Child Care Aware:
Assistance for Military Families When military families need child care that the Eglin CDCs and FCC are unable to provide, then they may reach out to Child Care Aware. This organization, in partnership with the Department of the Air Force, can provide assistance in finding child care outside the gates and potentially receiving a subsidy for that care. For links to more information on Child Care Aware’s assistance programs, go online to:
• eglinlife.com/cdc • eglinlife.com/fcc
CONGRATULATIONS to Conchita Martinez, the 2020 Family Child Care Provider of the Year!
Mr. Dennis Billig, the 96th Mission Support Group Deputy Director, presented the award to Ms. Martinez at her home with several playful youngsters in attendance.
Become a Family Child Care Provider Persons interested in a career as an Eglin Family Child Care (FCC) provider can obtain licensing through the Eglin FCC office and earn a potential monthly income of $4,500! Any on-base individual providing care for another family’s child for more than 10 hours a week on a regular basis must be licensed. Providers are needed to offer care for a wide variety of needs, including hourly, part time, full time, evenings, weekends, special needs, and overnight care.
The Eglin FCC office is also seeking individuals living off-base in the surrounding communities to become licensed affiliated child care providers. Affiliated providers must be spouses of a military ID card holder (active or retired) and must meet the State of Florida registered requirements prior to receiving an affiliated certificate from the MSG commander. Provider applications are available online at www.eglinlife.com/fcc To receive information on the next new provider orientation, please email the FCC staff at eglinfcc@gmail.com

Helpful Tips for
DEERS/ID Customers
DID YOU KNOW? . . . A valid general or special power of attorney is acceptable when a sponsor is not present to sign for a family member’s DEERS enrollment or ID card application. If the sponsor is deployed or mobilized for 31 or more days and is unavailable to sign a DD Form 1172-2, then the family member may present the sponsor’s deployment orders in lieu of a valid power of attorney.
