BIGGEST LOSER WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE

Let this be your year to shine! Challenge yourself and let the Eglin Fitness Center provide support and incentive to fuel your transformation with the "Eglin's Biggest Loser" Weight Loss Challenge. Registration takes place at the Main Fitness Center with the challenge officially starting on Monday, Jan. 10. Participants will receive weekly meal ideas to assist with nutritional needs and encourage a healthy lifestyle change. After doing an initial weigh-in, weigh-ins throughout the challenge will be conducted every Monday from9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Winners will be determined by weight loss in percentage, and the top three men and women will receive prizes at the end of the challenge. Participation is FREEand open to all base personnel ages 18 and up. ARCHERY TAG Sat, January 22 | 1 pm

Eglin Outdoor Recreation presents Archery Tag! Similar to dodgeball, Archery Tag is played with bows and foam-tipped arrows. This exciting, action-packed game is family friendly and offers something for everyone. Two five-player teams play opposite one another with a "safe zone" in between. To win, knock out the opposing team's members and targets while defending your teamand targets. Eliminate a player by hitting themwith an arrow or by catching their arrow. Revive an eliminated teammate by hitting an opponent's target or catching an opponent's arrow. Cost is $20 per person and includes all equipment needed to participate. Games are played outdoors at Postl Point and are open to all base personnel and their registered guests. Call or visit Outdoor Recreation to register! 850-882-5058

Dog Obedience Classes

Jan 26 - Feb 23 | Wednesdays 4-5 pm Feb 15 - Mar 15 | Tuesdays 4-5 pm Can't get Rover to roll over? Basic Dog Obedience is just what your pup needs! Classes are specialized for pups over four months of age, or adult dogs who have had no previous training. Your canine companion will learn basic obedience commands and good doggy manners, and individual behavioral problems such as excessive barking and jumping will be addressed. Course sessions last five weeks, with classes held for a maximumof 10 dogs. The first class meeting will be for owners only (no dogs should attend, please!). Cost for each five-week course is $80 and includes everything needed to participate. Dogs must be current on all vaccinations, including kennel

cough; owners are asked to bring their dog's shot record to the first class. Register and pick up additional class information at Outdoor Recreation at Postl Point. 850-882-5058

Glow in the Dark Disc Golf Friday, January 28 | 6 pm

All disc golf enthusiasts are invited to Postl Point for a round of Glow in the Dark Disc Golf. When the sun goes down, the fun begins! Outdoor Rec will provide players with special lights and can provide discs if needed. At least half of the course’s baskets will be illuminated with LEDlighting. Cost is $20 per person. Prior disc golf experience is recommended, but all with base access of all skill levels may join. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water, insect repellent, a headlamp or flashlight,

Watercraft Orientation Course

Saturday, January 29 | 10 am Saturday, February 19 | 10 am

Join Eglin Outdoor Recreation at the Postl Point marina for a Watercraft Orientation course. Beginner boaters are invited to learn the basics of watercraft operation including starting, shifting, anchoring, parking, tying knots and operating pontoon and fishing boats safely. This two-hour course costs $30 per person and is for all with base access ages 18 and up. Contact Outdoor Rec to learn more and register. 850-882-5058

Full Moon Kayak Thursday, February 17 | 7 pm

Come paddle with Eglin Outdoor Recreation out fromPostl Point to see the full moon rise over the bay. This two-hour guided excursion will take participants on a kayaking trip to a small secluded beach for an amazing view of the night sky, s'mores and a moonlit paddle back to Postl Point. Participation is open to all base personnel and registered guests, ages 16 and older, who have kayaking experience. Cost is $25 per person and includes all necessary equipment and ingredients for s'mores. Single and double kayaks are available. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water and a flashlight, and to wear non-cotton clothing. Date may be adjusted in the case of inclement weather conditions. Saturday, February 26 | 1 pm Eglin Outdoor Recreation invites you to teamup and battle it out with an exciting game of Laser Tag! Experience complete outdoor gameplay at Postl Point using the all-in-one Barracuda laser-tag unit. Built-in options allow players to build their own games, customize player names, view game stats, enable teams, respawn, set time and ammo and so much more. Cost is $20 per person. Saturday, February 12 • 4:30 pm • Take in a sunset over the water this Valentine's Day weekend with your significant other, a friend or just on your own! Eglin Outdoor Recreation is hosting a Valentine’s Sunset Paddle on Choctawhatchee Bay. Participants will meet at Postl Point to set out on their choice of a kayak or stand-up paddle board. Outdoor Rec will provide all equipment, and participants should bring a towel, a change of warmclothes, a flashlight, bottled water and ID. Cost is $25 per person and is open to anyone with base access.
