RECREATION & LEISURE NASCAR Trip to Daytona Friday-Sunday, July 6-8 Eglin ITT is off to the races! Join them for a 2-night stay in Daytona Beach and experience the NASCAR Coke Zero 400 at the Daytona International Speedway. Night SUP Glow Tour Friday, July 6 | 8 pm Friday, August 10 | 8 pm Eglin Outdoor Recreation invites all stand-up paddleboarders to experience Night SUP Glow Tours, an after-hours illuminated paddling

excursion on the Gulf of Mexico. Participants will paddle a board equipped with high powered waterproof LED lights for a dazzling watercraft adventure like no other. Trip is intended for experienced paddleboarders, and is open to all base personnel and their registered guests. Cost is $15 per person and includes paddleboard and paddle, lights, personal flotation device, and whistle. Participants meet for departure at Postl Point, and are encouraged to bring bottled water, swimsuit, towel, a headlamp or flashlight, and a change of clothes. Paddle Board Race & Demo Day Saturday, July 7 | 10 am Everyone is invited to a fun day in the sun at Eglin Outdoor Recreation’s 2nd Annual Paddle Board Race at Postl Point Beach. This competitive event will feature five races — a short race and a long race in both a women’s division and a men’s division, plus a kid’s race for ages 10 and younger. First through third place prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each race. Spectators are welcome! Outdoor Recreation will offer a FREE demo day for anyone who’d like to try out a paddle

Family Fun Golf Sundays | Discounts begin at 2 pm It’s family fun on the Falcon Course every Sunday afternoon starting at 2 p.m.! An adult accompanied by a child ages 8 to 17 pays HALF-PRICE green fees, and the accompanying child plays for FREE. Cart and equipment rentals are available at regular price, and the Pro Shop can provide everything needed to enjoy your afternoon together. Children must be 8 years or older to go on the Golf Course. level, Eglin Outdoor Recreation invites you on a trip to the Pickos Waterski & Wakeboard School in Santa Rosa Beach. A leader in watersports facilities, they offer instruction and expertise at all levels, with freshwater, man-made tournament lakes creating the optimal conditions for wakeboarding. Cost is $10 per person, with round-trip transportation provided from Postl Point to Santa Rosa Beach. Participants should bring spending money, water, snacks, a change of clothes, and a towel. Kid’s Adventure Camp Tuesday-Thursday, July 10-12 | 1-4 pm Tuesday-Thursday, August 7-9 | 1-4 pm Eglin Outdoor Recreation invites kids ages 7-14 to participate in their Kid’s Adventure Camp, featuring three afternoons of outdoor activities and clinics for popular Emerald Coast sports such as paddleboarding, kayaking, archery tag, laser tag, and more. Two camp sessions are offered, open to anyone with base access. Sign-up is required, and cost is $45 per camper. Paddle Board Clinic Friday, July 13 | 4 pm Sunday, August 5 | 1 pm Eglin Outdoor Recreation invites you to an introductory Paddle Board Clinic at Postl Point, to learn the art and technique of this popular “stand-up” watersport. Skills discussed include various paddling strokes, equipment, and basic safety procedures. Classes are conducted by World Paddling Association instructors and include one hour of instruction and one hour of free paddle time. Cost is $10 per person. Fishing 101 Clinics Saturdays, July 14 & 28 | 9 am Saturday, August 18 | 9 am Eglin Outdoor Recreation presents Fishing 101 Clinics at Postl Point, where a professional instructor will teach the basic techniques of shoreline fishing along the bay. Instruction includes baiting, casting, reeling, and fish identification. Basic shore fishing of the bay will be taught, all in a real fishing environment. Eglin’s Aero Club offers on-site testing for all FAA certifications, sales of all necessary materials and equipment, and regularly-scheduled Safety Briefings and Ground School training. Orientation flights with a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) are offered for $150 an hour. For already seasoned pilots, the Aero Club’s aircraft can be rented for personal and TDY travel, and CFI training courses and employment opportunities are always available. Even for those not interested in being a pilot, but who spend a lot of time flying, there’s a Pinch-Hitters Course to equip anyone with the basic skills for flying in the case of an emergency. Enjoy a night of laughs at The Bayview (Bldg 10870 on Boatner Road) as comedian and “Saturday Night Live” alum Tim Meadows brings his freshest stand-up to Eglin Air Force Base. Meadows began performing improvisational comedy at the Soup Kitchen Saloon in Detroit. He soon transitioned into show business as a member of The Second City comedy troupe alongside future SNL co-star Chris Farley, before landing a coveted role on the long-running late-night variety show in 1991. Meadows has also appeared in several critically acclaimed feature films, including “Mean Girls” and “Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,” and has most recently been seen on ABC’s hit family sitcom “The Goldbergs.” Admission is FREE for adults, ages 18 and up. The Eglin Golf Course, in partnership with The First Tee Northwest Florida, is hosting Junior Golf Summer Camps, with two sessions open to boys and girls. Camps include golf instruction and on-course play, plus fun games and crafts, all while seamlessly integrating the Nine Core Values and the Nine Healthy Habits championed by The First Tee programs. Family Child Care Provider
Persons interested in a career as an Eglin Family Child Care (FCC) provider can obtain licensing through the Eglin FCC office and earn a potential monthly income of $4,500! Any on-base individual providing care for another family’s child for more than 10 hours a week on a regular basis must be licensed. Providers are needed to offer care for a wide variety of needs, including hourly, part time, full time, evenings, weekends, special needs, and overnight care. The Eglin FCC office is also seeking individuals living off-base in the surrounding communities to become licensed affiliated child care providers. Affiliated providers must be spouses of a military ID card holder (active or retired) and must meet the State of Florida registered requirements prior to receiving an affiliated certificate from the Eglin MSG commander. RECREATION & LEISURE Alpha Warrior Battle Rig Event Comes to Eglin Tuesday, July 31 The 96th Force Support Squadron welcomes the 2018 Alpha Warrior Air Force Tour to Eglin AFB.

The Alpha Warrior Tour is a service-wide program that utilizes specially designed, stateof- the-art obstacle apparatus called Battle Rigs and Battle Stations to provide airmen an opportunity to build on their Comprehensive Airman Fitness (CAF.) The program enhances functional fitness training by incorporating the four pillars of CAF – mental, physical, social, and spiritual – to achieve a greater level of resiliency at home and while deployed.
Pro-Athletes who have participated in America Ninja Warrior events, and an opportunity to compete in timed challenges on the Battle Rig. Demonstrations and timed challenges begin at 1:30 p.m., first for youth ages 6-12 years, then for ages 13 and older. The event closes with an awards presentation at 6 p.m.

Alpha Warrior challenges are open for all DoD personnel and family members, and will take place in front of the main Eglin Fitness Center.
