MSgt Sergio Garcia Team Eglin Honor Guard Superintendent

“I love Honor Guard. I’ve had this love affair with Honor Guard and everything we’re doing and what it stands for, from the uniform and the image to the structure, discipline, precision, and timing. I truly love it. People get to see the final product. They look sharp, they look great, they look professional, and that’s awesome, but that comes with a lot of hard work. And it doesn’t happen overnight. I get to see them transform. I see their attitude and their performance get better each and every day. . . They go through a lot, and I demand a lot from them. When you’re placed in a position to lead, and someone believes in you, it propels you.”

MAKING GOLF FUN FOR KIDS School is out for the summer! I remember how excited I was for the summer because that meant more golf time. Golf shaped me into the person I am today, and I believe it’s an excellent sport for children. Golf teaches you integrity, hard work, honesty, and sportsmanship. Make sure always to have fun and encourage positive reinforcements to the children. Junior Golf Camps are a great way to introduce a child to golf in a fun environment. TIPS TO MAKE GOLF FUN FOR KIDS:

• Make It A Competition: Keep it fun and exciting with a small prize on the line.

Denise Kafferly, Class A LPGA Pro EGLIN GOLF COURSE

• Start Shorter: Allow younger golfers to tee it up from 100-200yard marker so that they can start making good scores and feel good about themselves.

• Use The Right Equipment: Getting the correct equipment for junior golfers is the key to golf success. The Eglin Golf Course stocks U.S. Kids Golf equipment, the leading youth brand in the world. Our staff will work hard to get you a great price.

• Keep It On Their Time: Let them be on the golf course for as long or as short of time as they want. The best learning happens when kids are interested and engaged.

Enjoy family time and golfing time this summer out at the Eglin Golf Course!
