comprehensive child care services at one of Eglin’s two Child Development Center (CDC) locations. Full day care and hourly drop-in care (on a space-available basis) are provided by a compassionate staff of certified professionals.
FAMILY CHILD CARE
eglinlife.com/fcc • • • The Eglin Family Child Care (FCC) office is a parent’s network for
connecting with on-base and affiliated off-base child care providers operating from their homes — a high-quality alternative to center-based care. All FCC providers are licensed and certified by not only the State of Florida but also Eglin leadership, and must operate by Air Force standards.

day camps and activities during spring, summer, and winter breaks — are all provided for children ages 5-12 at Eglin’s School Age Care (SAC) facility. With a goal to develop interests, enhance life skills, encourage positivity and promote self-worth, SAC provides a safe, nurturing, and age-appropriate environment for youngsters.
SCHOOL LIAISON
eglinlife.com/slo • • • The mission of Eglin’s School Liason office (SLO) is to eliminate barriers and build bridges for the academic success of military connected children, grades K-12. Through networks and partnerships with local and global communities, the SLO works to assist Active Duty parents with education matters that are unique to their children and the military lifestyle.
YOUTH CENTER
eglinlife.com/youth • • • The Eglin Youth Center goes above and beyond to provide its
members a “Positive Place For Kids!” Youth up to age 18 partake in year-round activities that promote character and leadership development, life skills, education, arts, fitness and sports — all in a safe, supervised environment.

Become a FCC Provider
Early Learning Matters
Persons interested in a career as an Eglin Family Child Care (FCC) provider can obtain licensing through the Eglin FCC office and earn a potential monthly income of $4,500! Any on-base individual providing care for another family’s child for more than 10 hours a week on a regular basis must be licensed. Providers are needed to offer care for a wide variety of needs, including hourly, part time, full time, evenings, weekends, special needs, and overnight care. The Eglin FCC office is also seeking individuals living off-base in the surrounding communities to become licensed affiliated child care providers. Affiliated providers must be spouses of a military ID card holder (active or retired) and must meet the State of Florida registered requirements prior to receiving an affiliated certificate from the Eglin MSG commander. Provider applications are available online at eglinlife.com/fcc To receive information on the next new provider orientation, please email the FCC staff at eglinfcc@gmail.com
The Eglin CDC is excited to implement the Early Learning Matters (ELM) curriculum! Developed for use in DoD Child Development Centers, the ELM curriculum gives military children a strong foundation by promoting skills linked to school readiness, well-being and life success. The multifaceted approach for children ages 0-5 includes staff-guided learning experiences, observations, assessment plans and parenting tips for families to extend learning at home. Learn more about the ELM curriculum at www.virtuallabschool.com/elm-curriculum. 850-883-7425

Helpful Tips for
DEERS/ID Customers
DID YOU KNOW? . . .
An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is a number that is used when a foreign national family member is not eligible for a Social Security Number (SSN) but is required to have a US taxpayer identification number. This number is issued by the IRS. The ITIN permits continued medical eligibility in the Military Treatment Facilities. A Temporary Identification Number (TIN) is a number that is generated and assigned by the DEERS database for categories of beneficiaries who are awaiting a SSN (e.g. newborns and foreign spouses) or do not have a SSN. Note: A TIN cannot be used to add a record from a RAPIDS application to the DEERS database for those who misplace or fail to provide SSN documentation.
