Family Child Care Provider

Persons interested in a career as an Eglin Family Child Care (FCC) provider can obtain licensing through the Eglin FCC office and earn a potential monthly income of $4,500! Any on-base individual providing care for another family’s child for more than 10 hours a week on a regular basis must be licensed. Providers are needed to offer care for a wide variety of needs, including hourly, part time, full time, evenings, weekends, special needs, and overnight care. The Eglin FCC office is also seeking individuals living off-base in the surrounding communities to become licensed affiliated child care providers. Affiliated providers must be spouses of a military ID card holder (active or retired) and must meet the State of Florida registered requirements prior to receiving an affiliated certificate from the Eglin MSG commander. Applications are available at the FCC office or online at www. eglinlife.com/fcc. Call 850-882-2994 for information on the next new provider orientation, or visit the “Bubble Building” at 2579 Gaffney Road to speak with FCC staff.

Key Spouse Training

Key Spouses are appointed by their Group or Squadron Commander, work closely with their First Sergeant, and are a focal point for information and support for families within their unit. Key Spouses are there to listen and to be a point of contact for referring families and members in the right direction for various services. They serve as an important resource to military families because they are peers who "know what it's like." The Eglin Airman & Family Readiness Center provides all mandated training to become a Key Spouse. If you are an appointed Key Spouse or Key Spouse Mentor, please call the A&FRC at 850-882-9060 to register for classes. Interested in becoming a Key Spouse?
