Challenge yourself and let the Eglin Fitness Center provide support and incentive to fuel your transformation with the "Eglin's Biggest Loser!" 6-Week Weight Loss Challenge. Registration takes place at the main Fitness Center, with the challenge officially starting on Jan. 7. Visit the front desk to get started. Winners will be announced at the end of the challenge. Eglin ITT will hold an email lottery for day trips to New Orleans for the Pelicans vs. Phoenix Suns game on March 16 at 6 pm and the Pelicans vs. LA Lakers game on March 31 at 5 pm. The first 20 people to claim spots (limit 2 per person) at eglinitt@us.af.mil at 11 am on Jan. 15 will have 24 hours to pay $50 per person to secure their reservation. Eglin Outdoor Recreation presents Fishing Clinics at Postl Point, where a professional instructor will teach basic shoreline fishing techniques. Instruction includes baiting, casting, reeling, and fish identification. Basic shore fishing of the bay will be taught, all in a real fishing environment. Cost for the 2-hour class is $25 and includes use of all necessary equipment and bait. Participation is open to all base personnel and their guests, ages 16 and up. All participants will need to obtain a free shoreline fishing license. Class dates are subject to rescheduling due to weather. Outdoor Rec | 850-882-5058

All Eglin personnel and families are invited to a Friday Cookout at The Bayview, featuring a FREE buffet for Bayview members and their immediate family. (Admission is $5 for all others, ages 3 and up.) Fill up on a delicious "all-you-can-eat" menu of Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chips and all the fixin's. What could be better than venturing into the great outdoors to enjoy the pristine beauty of nature in winter? ... How about venturing into the great outdoors to enjoy the pristine beauty of nature in winter, plus hot chocolate?! Participants meet at Eglin's Outdoor Recreation Center at Postl Point for an 8:30 a.m. departure. Cost is $10 per person and includes round trip transportation. Participation is open to all base personnel and their guests, ages 8 and up. Sign up at Outdoor Rec and please make staff aware of any allergies or other pertinent medical conditions when signing up. • 1-Mile Resolution Run
It's a new year — hit the ground running! Come out and join the Eglin Fitness Center for the annual Resolution Run. This year's event features a 1-mile fun run from the start/finish line at Postl Point, where the annual Polar Bear Plunge will take place immediately following the run. Participation is FREE for all base personnel, and all ages are welcome. Runners are asked to be in place by 6:45 am for a 7 am start time. Eglin's Child Development Center offers a special time for parents to enjoy a "Parents' Day Out" one Saturday every month. This popular child care program provides a break for parents while children are safely supervised in a fun and exciting environment.
