Exceptional Family Member Program 101
Eglin's Airman & Family Readiness Center holds a quarterly orientation for the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP). EFMP 101 helps to familiarize newly enrolled families with all the services EFMP has to offer through briefings from the Medical, Assignments and Family Support offices. Orientations are held at the A&FRC, Bldg 205 and are open to service members and families of all branches. Seating is limited, but virtual access is available via ZoomGov! Watercraft Orientation Course
TIME: 10AM
Join Outdoor Rec at the Postl Point marina for a Watercraft Orientation course! Beginner boaters are invited to learn the basics of watercraft operation including starting, shifting, anchoring, parking, tying knots and operating pontoon and fishing boats safely. This two-hour course costs $30 per person and is for all with base access ages 18 and older. Contact Outdoor Rec to learn more and register!

Get ready to dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge at the Eglin Fitness Center’s Dodgeball Tournament! Active duty personnel, spouses, retirees and DoD civilians are invited to form teams of 10 (at least 3 women on each team) and compete against other teams in five-minute matches; each match-up will be best two out of three games, and the tournament is single elimination. Registration is open from Tuesday, Jan. 4 to Friday, Feb. 4, and the tournament bracket will be posted on Wednesday, Feb. 9. The tournament is limited to 10 teams for registration, so call or stop by the Main Fitness Center to learn more!

ARCHERY TAG

Eglin Outdoor Recreation presents Archery Tag! Similar to dodgeball, Archery Tag is played with bows and foam-tipped arrows. This exciting, action-packed game is family friendly and offers something for everyone. Two five-player teams play opposite one another with a "safe zone" in between. To win, knock out the opposing team's members and targets while defending your team and targets. Eliminate a player by hitting them with an arrow or by catching their arrow. Revive an eliminated teammate by hitting an opponent's target or catching an opponent's arrow. Cost is $20 per person and includes all equipment needed to participate. Games are played outdoors at Postl Point and are open to all base personnel and their registered guests. Call or visit Outdoor Rec to register!

IN THE DARK
All disc golf enthusiasts are invited to Postl Point for a round of Glow in the Dark Disc Golf. When the sun goes down, the fun begins! Outdoor Rec will provide players with special lights and can provide discs if needed. At least half of the course’s baskets will be illuminated with LED lighting. Cost is $20 per person. Prior disc golf experience is recommended, but all with base access of all skill levels may join. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water, insect repellent, a headlamp or flashlight, and to wear comfortable athletic or hiking shoes.

Registration for Youth Baseball is open from Jan. 18 to Feb. 18 at the Eglin Youth Center, available weekdays from noon to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $60 per child or $120 per family. The age brackets are 5-6, 7-9 and 10-12 years old. Practices begin March 15 at the Eglin Youth Center Baseball Fields with all games being played between April 16 and May 21. All sign-ups after Feb. 18 will be assessed a $10 late fee. Late registration runs from Feb. 21 to Feb. 25. All youth participating in sports must have a current sports physical, shot record showing a current flu shot, birth certificate and recent parent orientation on file prior to starting the first day of practice. Grab your four best clubs and compete in the Eglin Golf Course’s 2022 Four-Club Super Saturday Challenge! Play is an individual-stroke format on the Eagle course with a 50 percent handicap. A current USGA is required in order to participate. The cost is $35 for Gold AGF, $45 for Silver AGF and $55 for non-AGF and includes cart fees, green fees, range balls, lunch and prizes.
