Civilian employees, the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Leadership wants you to apply for 2019 Civilian Development Education opportunities. The courses and programs offered are designed to help employees reach their goals and plan for future career growth. The Air Force Civilian Developmental Education program is open to all USAF GS civilian employees. The Application Cycle runs from March 1 - May 1, and program details can be accessed via myPers. Those interested are encouraged to speak with their supervisor or a mentor about program options. As the Application Cycle approaches, information regarding programs, deadlines and processes will be shared by AFMC and AFPC. Join Eglin Outdoor Recreation for a visit to Rock Out Climbing Gym in Destin. Rock Out is a premier indoor rock climbing facility that provides adventurers a place to seek new challenges, socialize with other active people, and enjoy an amazing workout — all while having fun. This two-hour scheduled event starts with departure time from the Eglin Outdoor Rec Center at Postl Point. The trip costs $10, and round trip transportation is included. Get Golf Ready! First Monday-Friday Each Month Summer: 5 - 6:30 pm | Winter: 4:30 - 6 pm
In just five lessons, we'll give you the game of a lifetime! The Eglin Golf Course presents "Get Golf Ready!"—an introductory golf program for ages 14 through adult. Whether you're a complete beginner, or just haven't played in some time, you'll get right into the swing of things after just five lessons. Get Golf Ready is a nationwide initiative by the USGA, PGA, PGA Tour, and LPGA to engage golfers and is taught by Eglin's PGA Professional. The clinic consists of four lessons and one day of "on course" instruction. Evening sessions are held Monday-Friday, the first full week of each month. Cost is $99 per person. • Parents' Day Out

Eglin's Child Development Center offers a special time for parents to enjoy a "Parents' Day Out" one Saturday every month. This popular child care program provides a break for parents while children are safely supervised in a fun and exciting environment. Buccaneer Pirate Cruise

• Full Moon Kayak
Tuesday, March 19 | 7 pm
Come paddle with Eglin Outdoor Recreation out from Postl Point to see the full moon rise over the bay. This two-hour guided excursion will take participants on a kayaking trip to a small secluded beach for an amazing view of the night sky, a small fire with s'mores, and a moonlit paddle back to Postl Point. Participation is open to all base personnel and registered guests, ages 16 and older, who have some prior kayaking experience. Cost is $20 per person and includes all necessary equipment and ingredients for s'mores. Single and double kayaks are available. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water and a flashlight, and to wear non-cotton clothing. Date may be adjusted in the case of inclement weather conditions. Pre-registration is required. Soar with Eglin Outdoor Recreation over scenic landscapes on an ultimate Zipline Trip at Adventures Unlimited in Milton, FL. This thrilling outdoor experience features 15 high-flying zips through beautiful forests and over the Blackwater River. Cost for the excursion is only $25 per person and includes transportation, all adventures, and all equipment. Participants should bring water, insect repellent, sunscreen, lunch and snacks, plus a good pair of athletic or hiking shoes. (No open-toed shoes allowed.) Eglin's Sand and Spur Riding Club invites you to their Annual Open House! Held at the Riding Club off Memorial Trail (just east of the BX/Commissary), the event is FREE and open to all military and DOD cardholders, their families and guests. The event will kick off with the National Anthem and Opening Ceremony at 10 a.m. Riding demonstrations will be presented, and FREE pony rides and tractor hayrides will be available from 10:15 a m - 12:45 pm. Attendees are welcome to bring folding chairs, snacks, and beverages. Concessions will be available for purchase (cash only).
