Air Force Art Contest March 1 - 31

Artists of all ages are invited to enter the 2021 Air Force Art Contest! Age categories include Adult Novice, Adult Accomplished, Children 6-8 years, Pre-Teens 9-12 years, and Teens 13-17. Judges will select first, second and third place for each category and award $300, $400 and $500 Amazon gift cards!

Library Tech Classes on Zoom March 23 and 25 | 11 am - 12 pm The Eglin Library is offering these new virtual classes via Zoom:

With tools like Libby and Hoopla, you can borrow FREE ebooks and digital audiobooks from your Library. All you need is a library card! Call the Library or email eglinlibrary@gmail.com to register for these FREE Zoom classes. Space is limited and a library card is required to attend. Need a card? Stop by the Library (Bldg 843) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

UPCOMING EVENTS March Madness Three-Point Shootout Friday, March 19 | 10 am - 6 pm

Test your skills at the three-point line with the Eglin Fitness Center’s March Madness Three-Point Shootout! Participants must reserve a time slot to compete, and prizes will be given to those with the top two scores. The gym is limited to ten occupants at a time, so please call the Fitness Center to guarantee your time slot. Contact SrA Rhodes or A1C Cann with any questions. (850) 882-6223

Singles Disc Golf Tournament Saturday, March 20 | 7:30 am

All ages and skill levels are invited to compete in Eglin Outdoor Recreation's Singles Disc Golf Tournament, taking place on the disc golf course at Postl Point! Participants will play two rounds and compete within six divisions: Recreation, Advanced, Intermediate, Novice, Women and Junior (ages 14 and under). Because this is a singles tournament, no teams are allowed. Registration is $30 per person and includes a player pack, lunch and beverages. Players must provide their own discs. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water and insect repellent, wear good athletic shoes and play their best game! (850) 882-5058

Lucky Leprechaun Golf Tournament Saturday, March 20 | 9 am Shotgun Start

Wear your luckiest green for the Eglin Golf Course's Lucky Leprechaun Golf Tournament! Players will pick their own foursomes to play on the Eagle course. The format is two-person blind draw of the team total score and a 19th hole pot-of-gold substitute score. Players will receive 80% handicap, and a current USGA Handicap is required for this event. Cost is $30 for Gold AGF Members, $40 for Silver AGF Members or $50 for Non-AGF; the cost includes cart fees, green fees, range balls, lunch and tournament prizes. Women’s History Month Movie Night Saturday, March 20 | 6 pm

In support of Women's History Month, Eglin Outdoor Recreation is showing a drive-in movie at Postl Point! Join Outdoor Rec to watch "Girl Rising” (2013 | PG-13 | Documentary); the showing is first-come first-serve admission with a capacity of 40 cars. Attendees can access popcorn, drinks and food trucks starting at 5 p.m., and the movie will start at 6 p.m. Contact ODR for more information! (850) 882-5058

Spring Fling Virtual 5K March 22 - 26 | Run Anywhere!

Put a spring in your step with the Eglin Fitness Center’s Spring Fling Virtual 5K! All with base access are invited to register with the Main

Full Moon Kayak Sunday, March 28 | 7 pm Come paddle with Eglin Outdoor Recreation out from Postl Point to see the full moon rise over the bay. This two-hour guided excursion will

take participants on a kayaking trip to a small secluded beach for an amazing view of the night sky, a small fire with s'mores, and a moonlit paddle back to Postl Point. Participation is open to all base personnel and registered guests, ages 16 and older, who have some prior kayaking experience. Cost is $20 per person and includes all necessary equipment and ingredients for s'mores. Single and double kayaks are available. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water and a flashlight, and to wear non-cotton clothing. Date may be adjusted in the case of inclement weather conditions. Pre-registration is required, so contact Outdoor Rec to sign up. (850) 882-5058
