Universal Orlando Ticket Special On Sale Through March 31

Universal Orlando Resort has announced the 2019 continuation of their special ticket offer for current and retired military members and DoD Civilians! The offer consists of a 4-Day Park-to-park ticket good at either 2 or 3 Universal Orlando parks.

Dance School at the Youth Center

Eglin's Youth Center hosts the Eglin Dance School, with instructor Heather Weitz offering a variety of weekly classes for children ages 3 to teen. For Ages 3-5: Tap & Ballet: Monday, 4 p.m. Jazz: Tuesday, 5 p.m. Tap & Ballet: Wednesday, 6 p.m. Tap & Ballet: Thursday, 4 p.m. For Ages 6-12: Intermediate Tap & Jazz: Monday, 5:30 p.m. Beginner Tap & Jazz: Tuesday, 3:45 p.m. Ballet (All Levels): Tuesday, 6:15 p.m. Advanced Tap & Jazz: Thursday, 5:30 p.m. For Teens: Advanced Tap, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Jazz: Wednesday, 3:45 p.m. All classes for ages 3-5 and 6-12 are one hour long and cost $45/month per child, per class. Cost for each additional child or class is $35/month. The teen class is a two-hour combo session and costs $100/month per teen. Easter Eggstravaganza! Saturday, April 20 | 10 am

Eglin's annual "Easter Eggstravaganza!" will be held on the ball fields behind the Eglin Youth Center for all children ages 1-12. Bring your basket and be ready to roll at this fun annual tradition, where there's a prize in every egg! Event is open to all families with access to Eglin AFB. • Dog Obedience Classes

April 2 - April 30: Tuesdays | 5 - 6 pm April 17 - May 15: Wednesdays | 5 - 6 pm

Carnival's Newest Caribbean Cruise

Departs September 30, 2020

Can't get Rover to roll over? Basic Dog Obedience is just what your pup needs! Classes are specialized for pups over four months of age, or adult dogs who haven't had previous training. Your canine companion will learn basic obedience commands and good doggy manners, and individual behavioral problems such as excessive barking and jumping will be addressed. Course sessions last five weeks, with classes held for a maximum of 8 dogs. The first class meeting will be for owners only (no dogs should attend, please!). Cost for each five-week course is $75 and includes everything needed to participate. Outdoor Rec | 850-882-5058

• Kayak Introductory Class Friday, April 5 | 4 pm

Get out on the water with Eglin Outdoor Recreation for an introductory Kayak Clinic at Postl Point! Learn how to use a sit on top kayak with the fundamentals of boat control, proper paddling apparel, potential hazards, and simple rescues. Students will be able to practice maneuvering on flat-water using entry-level paddling skills. Cost is $20 per person and includes instruction and kayak rental. Participation is open to all base personnel and their guests, ages 8 and up. Class size is limited. Outdoor Rec | 850-882-5058

• April Membership Appreciation Friday, April 5 | 3:30 - 6 pm

All Eglin personnel and families are invited to a Membership Appreciation Celebration at The Bayview, featuring a FREE buffet for Bayview members and their immediate family. (Admission is $5 for all others, ages 3 and up.) Fill up on a delicious "all-you-can-eat" menu with Chef Bill's General Tso’s Chicken and sides. The bar will be open for beverage purchases. Enjoy indoor games and activities, plus prize giveaways for Bayview members throughout the evening. Members are also reminded to pick up their April Bayview Bucks. More announcements are still to come, but we're ready to share what may be the most exciting: BOLT™, the first-ever roller coaster at sea! Everybody can enjoy Mardi Gras, sailing in 2020. The 15-day cruise leaves September 30, 2020. Travel through the South Caribbean with port stops in New York, Amber Cove, San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Aruba, Curacao, Grand Turk Island, and Port Canaveral. • NEW TIME! Scenic Trail Hike Saturday, April 6 | 7:30 am

Explore the Florida National Scenic Trail with Eglin Outdoor Rec! Wander through spring-fed creeks and enjoy the plant and animal life along a beautiful 7-mile stretch of trail. Cost is $20 per person and includes round trip transportation to the trail (about 45 minutes away) and a hiking permit. Hikers are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and breathable clothing and to bring bottled water, a sandwich and snacks, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Outdoor Rec also recommends wearing hats and long sleeves. Participation is open to all base personnel and their guests, ages 8 and up. Participants will meet at Eglin's Outdoor Recreation Center at Postl Point for departure. Outdoor Rec | 850-882-5058

• Anger Management Sessions

April 9, 16, 23, 30 | Tuesdays, 2 - 4 pm

Eglin’s Family Advocacy and Airman & Family Readiness Center want to help you with their new Anger Management Sessions. The four-sessions are designed to define anger, identify personal triggers and problematic beliefs, and develop an individualized anger management plan. Sessions are on Tuesdays from 2-4 pm in Bldg 2578, at the Corner of Gaffney and Hatchee Road. This program is FREE, but you must register ahead of time. Eglin Family Advocacy | 850-883-8616
