Bunny Hop Virtual 5K April 1 - 6 | Run Anywhere!

Hop to it - join the Eglin Fitness Center's Bunny Hop Virtual 5K! All with base access are invited to sign up with the Main Fitness Center and submit times to the Eglin Fitness Center Facebook page's post. Participants without access to Facebook may submit times to joshua.huerta@us.af.mil. Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers!

Kayak Clinic Sunday, April 4 | 1 pm

Get out on the water with Eglin Outdoor Recreation for an introductory Kayak Clinic at Postl Point! Learn how to use a sit-on-top kayak with the fundamentals of boat control, proper paddling apparel, potential hazards and simple rescues. Students will be able to practice maneuvering on flat water using entry-level paddling skills. Cost is $20 per person and includes instruction and kayak rental. Participation is open to all base personnel and their guests, ages 8 and up.

Class size is limited, so contact Outdoor Rec to sign up early. Classes may be rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Artists of all ages are invited to enter the 2021 Air Force Art Contest! Age categories include Adult Novice, Adult Accomplished, Children 6-8 years, Pre-Teens 9-12 years, and Teens 13-17. Judges will select first, second and third place for each category and award $300, $400 and $500 Amazon gift cards! Spring Fling Virtual 5K March 22 - 26 | Run Anywhere!

Put a spring in your step with the Eglin Fitness Center’s Spring Fling Virtual 5K! All with base access are invited to register with the Main Fitness Center and submit run times to the Eglin Fitness Center Facebook page’s post. Full Moon Kayak Sunday, March 28 | 7 pm

Come paddle with Eglin Outdoor Recreation out from Postl Point to see the full moon rise over the bay. This two-hour guided excursion will take participants on a kayaking trip to a small secluded beach for an amazing view of the night sky, a small fire with s'mores, and a moonlit paddle back to Postl Point. Participation is open to all base personnel and registered guests, ages 16 and older, who have some prior kayaking experience. Cost is $20 per person and includes all necessary equipment and ingredients for s'mores. Single and double kayaks are available. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water and a flashlight, and to wear non-cotton clothing. Date may be adjusted in the case of inclement weather conditions. RecOn Zip Line Trip Saturday, April 3 | 8:30 am

Soar with Eglin Outdoor Recreation over scenic landscapes on an ultimate Zip Line Trip at Adventures Unlimited in Milton, FL. This thrilling outdoor experience features 15 high-flying zips through beautiful forests and over the Blackwater River. Cost for the excursion is only $25 per person and includes all adventures and all equipment. Participants should bring water, insect repellent, sunscreen, lunch, snacks and a good pair of athletic or hiking shoes (no open-toed shoes allowed.) Weight limit is between 70 and 250 lbs. Participants must provide their own transportation to Adventures Unlimited (8974 Tomahawk Landing Rd, Milton, FL). Dog Obedience Classes April 6 - May 4 | Tuesdays, 5 - 6 pm

Can't get Rover to roll over? Basic Dog Obedience is just what your pup needs! Classes are specialized for pups over four months of age, or adult dogs who have had no previous training. Your canine companion will learn basic obedience commands and good doggy manners, and individual behavioral problems such as excessive barking and jumping will be addressed. Course sessions last five weeks, with classes held for a maximum of 10 dogs. The first class meeting will be for owners only (no dogs should attend, please!). Cost for each five-week course is $75 and includes everything needed to participate. Dogs must be current on all vaccinations, including kennel cough; owners are asked to bring their dog's shot record to the first class.
