Alpha Warrior 2021
Friday, April 9 & 30 | 4:30 pm Do you have what it takes to conquer the Battle Rig? Join the Eglin Fitness Center for the 2021 Alpha Warrior competition! The competition will take place on the Battle Rig at the pavilion behind the Fitness Field House. The rig is available for participants who want to train before competing. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, participants will compete on one of the two days and will be required to sanitize their hands prior to starting their turns on the rig. Registration is FREE and open to all with base access, and the first 20 people to register will get a free shirt. Eglin’s Strongest Competition April 13 & 17 | Register by April 9
Where do you stack among Eglin's strongest? Put your muscles to the test at the annual Eglin's Strongest Competition, being held at the Fitness Pavilion. Participants in this challenging "push/pull" event must register in their age divisions and in one of 10 weight classes for both male and female. Participation is open to all base personnel and family members (ages 18+) and will take place across two days of competition. Registration opens Monday, March 22 and closes Friday, April 9. Bunny Hop Virtual 5K April 1 - 6 | Run Anywhere!
Hop to it - join the Eglin Fitness Center's Bunny Hop Virtual 5K! All with base access are invited to sign up with the Main Fitness Center and submit times to the Eglin Fitness Center Facebook page's post. Participants without access to Facebook may submit times to joshua.huerta@us.af.mil. Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers! (850) 882-6223
Pensacola Ladies Tea Trip Saturday, April 10 | 9 am
Join Eglin ITT for a tea party in Pensacola! Participants will depart from the ITT building at 9 a.m., enjoy afternoon tea at The Olde English Creamery and check out a mystery stop! The cost is $49 per person and includes afternoon tea and round-trip transportation. The trip is limited to seven ladies, and masks must be worn at all times while traveling to/from Pensacola. Air Force Virtual Teen Aviation Camp June 14 - 25 | Applications Due April 14
The application period for the 2021 Virtual Teen Aviation Camp is now open! The camp will be conducted June 14 - 25, 2021 in partnership with Air Force Aero Clubs and offers an introduction to the field of aviation and opportunities for careers and leadership roles within the Air Force. A combination of web-based presentations, discussion groups and self-paced course materials provide the knowledge needed to complete the Private Pilot Exam and begin the journey toward earning a Private Pilot License! Completed applications must be submitted by a parent or guardian no later than Wednesday, April 14 through the AF Camps workflow box: AFSVC.SVPY.Camps@us.af.mil. Selections will be announced no later than Friday, April 23.
