Virtual Jump Rope Competition April 12-16 | Two Ways to Compete!
Jump in and join the Eglin Fitness Center's Virtual Jump Rope Competition! All with base access are invited to compete in two categories: endurance and creativity. For the endurance category, participants will record themselves jumping rope while running a stopwatch to track their time. For the creativity category, participants will record themselves jumping rope (up to five minutes) with their own fun and creative twists! Videos can be submitted to the Fitness Center's Facebook page between Monday, April 12 and Friday, April 16 at 11:59 p.m. CST. The endurance participant with the best time and the creativity participant with the most likes on Facebook will each win a prize! Contact SSgt Grace with any questions. (850) 882-6223
Eagle Par-3 Shootout Saturday, April 24 9 am Shotgun Start
Join Eglin Golf for the 2021 Eagle Par-3 Shootout! Play is two-person best-ball format with 50% of the team's average handicap. A field of up to 72 players will compete across 18 par-3 holes. The entry fee is $30 for Gold AGF Members, $40 for Silver AGF Members and $50 for Non-AGF; the cost includes green fees, cart fees, range balls and prizes. Contact the Pro Shop to register. UPCOMING EVENTS Alpha Warrior 2021 Friday, April 9 & 30 | 4:30 pm
Do you have what it takes to conquer the Battle Rig? Join the Eglin Fitness Center for the 2021 Alpha Warrior competition! The competition will take place on the Battle Rig at the pavilion behind the Fitness Field House. The rig is available for participants who want to train before competing. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, participants will compete on one of the two days and will be required to sanitize their hands prior to starting their turns on the rig. Registration is FREE and open to all with base access, and the first 20 people to register will get a free shirt. Air Force Virtual Teen Aviation Camp June 14 - 25 | Applications Due April 14 The application period for the 2021 Virtual Teen Aviation Camp is now open! The camp will be conducted June 14 - 25, 2021 in partnership with Air Force Aero Clubs and offers an introduction to the field of aviation and opportunities for careers and leadership roles within the Air Force. A combination of web-based presentations, discussion groups and self-paced course materials provide the knowledge needed to complete the Private Pilot Exam and begin the journey toward earning a Private Pilot License! Completed a must be submitted by a parent or guardian no later than Wednesday, April 14 through the AF Camps workflow box: AFSVC.SVPY.Camps@us.af.mil. Selections will be announced no later than Friday, April 23.
Cornhole Tournament April 20 - 23 | Register by Friday, April 16 The Eglin Fitness Center is hosting a single-elimination, two-player Cornhole Tournament! Registration is free and open to all with base access, and participants must sign up in teams of two by Friday, April 16. Teams will compete April 20-22 at the main Fitness Center parking lot, and the top two teams from each day (six total) will move forward and compete for the tournament prize on Friday, April 23.
