Saturday, April 27 | 8:30 am - 1 pm Everyone with base access is invited to shop or sell at Eglin's base-wide Parking Lot Sale, held on Georgia Avenue. Look for the event at the two large parking lots across the street from the Eglin Conference Center and Exchange Mini Mall. Sellers may park in either lot and use adjacent parking spaces to display their wares. Space for sellers is FREE! Advance reservations are not required. And if you're a shopper, you won't want to miss this event! There's always an enormous selection and assortment of treasures to be found at this popular event—furniture, electronics, children's items, toys, movies, books, clothing, collectibles, sporting goods, home accessories and much more! Sellers must be in place and ready to sell at 8:30 a.m. sharp, when the event will be officially opened to shoppers. This is a perfect opportunity to raise some extra cash for your family, group, or organization—or to get some thrifty gift shopping done! Restrooms will be available at the Mini Mall. Find your inner artist! Come and join us for a spring-themed session of Sip & Paint Night, hosted by Splash Paint Party Studio. Price is $15 for Eglin Bayview members/ $30 ......for non-members, and includes a personal cheese plate to snack on, a canvas, and all other painting supplies. Painters will also receive one drink of their choice — including a glass of wine, a pint of beer, or a non-alcoholic beverage. The bar will also be open for purchases. Eglin's Airman & Family Readiness Center is holding a special Homefront Heroes Award Ceremony to honor the spouses and children of currently or recently deployed personnel. There will be a medal and certificate presented to family members to honor and highlight the sacrifices and contributions made while their Military Member was answering our nation's call. The ceremony will be held at the East Pavilion at Postl Point and is open to all Eglin AFB, Duke Field, and 7th SFG, and Tyndall families who experienced a deployment between May 1, 2018, and April 30, 2019. Saturday, May 11 | Postl Point
Eglin is set to host Air Force Entertainment's Live Stage Rock Festival featuring Grammy-nominated band Sum 41 with special guest band We The Kings at Postl Point on Saturday, May 11. The day will kick off with an opening ceremony at 2 pm followed by a food truck rally and beverage sales, a car show featuring Emerald Coast Exotic Cars of Destin, and an appearance by popular local band Swingtown. The main stage opens at 7 pm. with performances by We The Kings followed by Sum 41. Admission to the event is FREE and open to all DoD ID card holders and their guests. Audience members are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets for concert seating. Video or audio recording is not permitted. Backpack and large handbags are discouraged, and such items may be subject to immediate search upon request. The event is brought to you by Air Force Entertainment (AFE), a part of the Air Force Services Activity. AFE's ongoing mission is to provide installations with no-cost quality entertainment for Airmen and families.
• Eglin Match Play Championship Monday, May 20 | Eglin Golf Course
Do you have what it takes to win match play? Show off your skills at the Eglin Golf Club’s Match Play Championship! There are three divisions, Ladies Green Tee, Men’s Gold Tee (Age 64 & under), and Men's Silver Tee (Age 65 & up). A full handicap is required (GHIN only). Pairings will be drawn blindly, and the 18 hole matches will be double elimination. There is a $25 entry fee, not including Green and Cart fees. Registration deadline is Friday, May 17. • Eglin Golf Course Summer Youth Golf Camps
Join the Eglin Golf Course for their Youth Summer Camps! It will be a fun-filled golf week led by our LPGA instructor. Kids will have fun while learning golf skills, values, and etiquette. Young golfers will work on their skills in a fun and encouraging environment, learning golf fundamentals while using age-appropriate equipment and exercises. If needed, clubs are available to borrow during camp hours. Experienced camp leaders will fit every junior for the appropriate U.S Kids Golf clubs. Registration is required, and participants must pre-pay for camps. Snacks and refreshments will be available, and there is an option to prepay and register for a discounted $5.00 lunch box every day.
