Full Moon Kayak

Come paddle with Eglin Outdoor Recreation out from Postl Point to see the full moon rise over the bay. This two-hour guided excursion will take participants on a kayaking trip to a small secluded beach for an amazing view of the night sky, a small fire with s'mores, and a moonlit paddle back to Postl Point. Participation is open to all base personnel and registered guests, ages 16 and older, who have some prior kayaking experience. Cost is $20 per person and includes all necessary equipment and ingredients for s'mores. Single and double kayaks are available. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water and a flashlight, and to wear non-cotton clothing. Date may be adjusted in the case of inclement weather conditions. (850) 882-5058
Log Rolling 101
Sunday, May 2 | 1 pm Eglin Outdoor Recreation is excited to present Log Rolling 101 classes! Log rolling is a sport in which two contestants stand on a floating log and try to knock each other off by spinning it with their feet. Outdoor Rec will be using Key Logs, a 65-pound synthetic log that floats, rotates and reacts just like a traditional cedar wood log when filled with water. The one-hour course will include instruction, competition and free rolling and will cover the fundamentals, rules, and history of the sport. The class costs $15 with snacks, water and beverages provided. Participants should bring dry fit clothes, shoes that can get wet, water bottle, change of clothes, towel, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. The class will meet at Postl Point.
