Find your inner artist! Come and join us for a spring-themed session of Sip & Paint Night, hosted by Splash Paint Party Studio. Price is $15 for Eglin Bayview members/ $30 for non-members, and includes a personal cheese plate to snack on, a canvas, and all other painting supplies. Painters will also receive one drink of their choice — including a glass of wine, a pint of beer, or a non-alcoholic beverage. The bar will also be open for purchases. Eglin's Airman & Family Readiness Center is holding a special Homefront Heroes Award Ceremony to honor the spouses and children of currently or recently deployed personnel. The ceremony will be held at the East Pavilion at Postl Point and is open to all Eglin AFB, Duke Field, and 7th SFG, and Tyndall families who experienced a deployment between May 1, 2018, and April 30, 2019. Car Basics: What You Need To Know Thursday, May 23 | 6 - 8 pm
Do you struggle when it comes to basic car maintenance? You’re not alone - Auto Hobby is here to help! Join them for a new class, Car Basics: What You Need To Know. A short in-class session will be followed by hands-on learning in the shop. Learn how to identify different auto parts and systems, check and adjust tire pressure, and talk to an Auto Shop about issues and repairs. No experience is preferred! • A Night of Comedy at the Bayview Sunday, May 5 | 5 pm
You're invited to "A Night of Comedy" presented by Air Force Entertainment. All military and civilian personnel with base access are welcome to attend. Enjoy a night of laughs at The Bayview featuring Ivan Pecel and Russ Merlin! Ivan Pecel is a comedian, juggler, and entertainer with over 15 years of experience. He previously competed on America's Got Talent. Russ Merlin is a Tonight Show alum with his own residency in Las Vegas, "V-The Ultimate Variety Show." He's performed in over 50 countries and is one of the world's most well-known entertainers. Admission is FREE, and all ages are welcome at the family-friendly show. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Join the Eglin Airman & Family Readiness Center and learn more about how DoD and VA education benefits can help Service members and dependents pay for, or offset, the cost of tuition, housing, books, and supplies. This class will cover available benefits, including the Post-9/11 GI Bill. The briefings are held once a month at the A&FRC from 1-2 pm and are open to Active Duty Military, retirees, and dependents. Eglin is set to host Air Force Entertainment's Live Stage Rock Festival featuring Grammy-nominated band Sum 41 with special guest band We The Kings at Postl Point on Saturday, May 11. The day will kick off with an opening ceremony at 2 pm followed by a food truck rally and beverage sales, a car show featuring Emerald Coast Exotic Cars of Destin, and an appearance by popular local band Swingtown. The main stage opens at 7 pm. with performances by We The Kings followed by Sum 41. Admission to the event is FREE and open to all DoD ID card holders and their guests. Audience members are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets for concert seating. Video or audio recording is not permitted. Backpack and large handbags are discouraged, and such items may be subject to immediate search upon request. The event is brought to you by Air Force Entertainment (AFE), a part of the Air Force Services Activity. Carnival's Newest Caribbean Cruise Departs September 30, 2020
Check out Carnival Cruise Line's newest ship, the Mardi Gras, with Eglin ITT! There will be six themed areas packed with brand-new experiences for eating, drinking and spectacular fun. More announcements are still to come, but we're ready to share what may be the most exciting: BOLT™, the first-ever roller coaster at sea! Everybody can enjoy Mardi Gras, sailing in 2020. The 15-day cruise leaves September 30, 2020. Travel through the South Caribbean with port stops in New York, Amber Cove, San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. Kitts, Aruba, Curacao, Grand Turk Island, and Port Canaveral. Get out on the water with Eglin Outdoor Recreation for an introductory Kayak Clinic at Postl Point! Learn how to use a sit on top kayak with the fundamentals of boat control, proper paddling apparel, potential hazards, and simple rescues. • Bow Fishing Charter
Sunday, May 19 | 8:30 am | $50
Fishing enthusiasts - try your hand at bow fishing with Eglin Outdoor Rec! Bow fishing is a specialized method of fishing that utilizes archery equipment (bows and arrows) to shoot and retrieve fish. Fish are shot with a solid fiberglass arrow with a special "fish tip" that has special barbs to prevent the fish from coming loose. A reel is mounted to the bow to aid in line and fish retrieval. The group will meet at the Outdoor Rec facility at Postl Point at 8:30 am before traveling by van. Participants must be at least 12 years old.
