Summer Reading Program: “Reading Colors Your World!”

June 1 - August 31 Registration Now Open!

The Eglin Library invites readers of all ages to participate in its annual Summer Reading Program! All ages are eligible to earn incentives for reaching reading goals. Register by stopping at the Library (Bldg 843, first floor) or going to www.eglinlibrary.com. In addition to participating in the program, Library patrons are encouraged to be creative, try new things, explore art and find beauty in diversity with fun take-home activities! Eagle Par-3 Shootout

Saturday, June 5 | 9 am Shotgun Start Join Eglin Golf for the 2021 Eagle Par-3 Shootout! Play is two-person best-ball format with 50% of the team's average handicap. A field of up to 72 players will compete across 18 par-3 holes. The entry fee is $30 for Gold AGF Members, $40 for Silver AGF Members and $50 for Non-AGF; the cost includes green fees, cart fees, range balls and prizes. Contact the Pro Shop to register. Enjoy outdoor movies at Postl Point on Friday nights! Parking will accommodate up to 50 vehicles per show. Admission is FREE and open to all Eglin personnel and family members. Amphibian Race Friday, May 28 | 7:30 am

Whether you’re faster by land or by sea, compete in the Eglin Fitness Center’s Amphibian Race! All with base access are invited to compete on Friday, May 28 at Postl Point. Participants will start the race on paddle boards and finish with a one-mile run. Registration is open from Monday, May 3 to Monday, May 24, and there is no cost to participate. The top male and female finishers will win a gift basket, and medals will be awarded to the second-place and third-place male and female finishers. Aero Club Open House Monday, May 31 | 9 am - 3:30 pm

Enjoy a spectacular bird's-eye view of the Emerald Coast on a scenic flight with the Eglin Aero Club! To celebrate Memorial Day, the Aero Club is holding an Open House and offering 20-minute plane rides for only $30 per person. Flights in a Cessna 172 aircraft depart every 30 minutes beginning at 9 a.m., carrying up to 3 passengers each. All with base access can attend and learn about the flight training and pilot services offered at the Eglin Aero Club.

Available flight times are limited and must be reserved. Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the event date. Flights depart from the Aero Club (Bldg 898 on the flight line). (850) 882-5148
