Find your inner artist! Come and join us for a Patriotic-themed (July) FRIDAY, JULY 19 FRIDAY, AUGUST 16 or beach-themed (August) session of Sip & Paint Night, hosted by Splash Paint Party Studio. Price is $15 for Eglin Club members/$30 for non-members, and includes a personal cheese plate to snack on, a canvas, and all other painting supplies. Painters will also receive one drink of their choice — including a glass of wine, a pint of beer, or a non-alcoholic beverage. The bar will also be open for purchases. Must be 16 and up to participate. You must make a reservation, & seats are limited!

Dash & Splash at Postl Point Friday, July 12 | Check-in: 6:30 am

Eglin Outdoor Recreation and Fitness Center are excited to present the first ever Dash & Splash Race at Postl Point! Start with a 2-mile run on foot, then cool off with a 200-meter swim in the bay, starting and finishing at the Outdoor Rec Center. Men's and Women's divisions will race together, and trophies will be awarded to first place winners. There will also be prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in both divisions. Snacks and beverages will be provided, and water stations will be available along the route. Participants should bring dry fit clothing, good running shoes that can get wet, water, a change of clothes, towel, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. (Note: Before the race start, participants will have the option to leave personal items in a bin to collect at the end of their race.) Registration is FREE and the first 30 registrants will receive a free t-shirt.

• Youth Fall Sports Registration

July 8 - August 16 | Monday - Friday, 12 pm - 5:30 pm Early registration for Youth Soccer, Flag Football, and Cheerleading is open July 8 - August 9 at the Eglin Youth Center, available Monday-Friday from noon to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $50 per child, or $100 per family. Late registration runs August 12-16, with an additional $10 fee. A mandatory parent orientation meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the Eglin Youth Center Gym. All youth participating in sports must have a current sports physical, shot record showing current flu shot, birth certificate, and recent Parent Orientation completion on file prior to starting the first day of practice. Full registration details regarding player age groups, the evaluations schedule, and forms are available at the Youth Center. VOLUNTEER COACHES ARE NEEDED! Coaches receive a $50 discount per family. Coaches training will take place Thursday, August 8 at 5:30 p.m. Please call 850-882-5074 for volunteer information.

Satchmo SummerFest Day Trip Saturday | August 4, 2019 Join Eglin ITT on a day trip to the New Orleans Jazz Museum, headquarters for the annual SummerFest saluting legendary Lois "Satchmo" Armstrong.

The festival features outdoor concerts, jazz exhibits, local delicacies and much more. Cost is $45 for transportation.

Admission is $5 for ages 13 and older.

Join the Eglin Youth Center for the 2019 America’s Kids Run! Each year, military dependants in the United States and across the world participate in America's Kids Run. This year’s event is a color run. All runners will receive an America’s Kids Run t-shirt for participating. The event is FREE and open to those with base access. Please register online until Friday, July 19 at www.americaskidsrun.org. Sponsors will be required to sign and submit a permission slip consenting to allow Youth Center Staff to execute any emergency actions (if needed) during the event. • Ultimate Frisbee Tournament

REGISTRATION REQUIRED - Friday, August 16 | 4 pm The Eglin Fitness Center is hosting an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament and is looking for 7-person teams to participate. Teams must include at least one woman. The event will be held on the Soccer Field located behind the Fitness Field House. Winner gets bragging rights and a trophy! The Eglin Beach Park is located on Okaloosa Island just west of the Destin Bridge and is open during summer months to all DoD personnel with proper ID—all military ranks, retirees, family members, civilian personnel (including all federal employees regardless of duty station) and federal facility contractors—and their guests. The facility features 4 large pavilions, central deck area, 2 sets of restrooms with showers, and access to the Gulf. Parking fee is $5 per vehicle, cash only. Pavilions are available for reservation by calling 850-883-1243 between the hours of 10:30 am and 3:30 pm. Please see a lifeguard during open swim. Only USCG approved flotation devices are allowed in the pool.

Inflatables or foam noodles are not allowed. No flotation devices are allowed in the deep end. Mission Essential Users can request access to the pool calendar to schedule training. RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Boats and paddles/oars must be all cardboard construction. You can use all types of tape, glue, and paint. You may NOT use cloth, wood, plastic, foam, metal, fiberglass, resin or similar products.

2. Each boat must have a minimum of two crew members. Children must be age 8 or older and participate with a parent.

3. Boats must be powered by crew members only. Body parts may not be used to propel boats.

4. Boats must cover a designated course on top of the water. A standing dry start format will be used. Upon the start, crews must move boats from the starting line into the water. Boats will be raced from the beach to a turnaround point and back.

5. Boats must be at designated area on beach near east end of Postl Point parking lot by 3:30 p.m. Judging begins at 4:30 p.m., race starts at 5 p.m.

6. First boat returning to the beach with crew and boat intact wins 1st place. The following two boats receive 2nd and 3rd place.

AWARDS

Awards will be presented in the following categories: FASTEST 1st-3rd, NOTABLE DESIGN, BEST CREW SPIRIT, BEST DRESSED CREW, DAVY JONES for first to sink, and TITANIC for most dramatic sinking. Cash prizes will be presented in the FASTEST category as follows: 1st $300; 2nd $250; 3rd $200.

Boats not placing in the FASTEST category will be entered in a random drawing for three FSS gift cards. Event goers will have the opportunity to vote for CROWD FAVORITE at the Eglin Life event tent. Watch for SOCIAL MEDIA contests throughout July leading up to race day!

REGISTRATION

All authorized access to Eglin are invited to enter the Regatta. Friends, family and unit/squadron entries are all welcome. Boats must be registered at Eglin Outdoor Recreation by Thursday, July 25. You will be asked to provide a POC name/phone/email along with the name of your boat and the number in your crew. If your entry represents a specific group or squadron, please let us know. Each boat will be assigned an entry number. Visit ODR or call 850-882-5058 to register.
