The Eglin Golf Course invites all eligible golfers to the Eglin Open Championship, a full weekend of great competitive golf! Participation is open to all authorized DoD personnel and their sponsored guests. A Welcome Party will be held Friday evening, and Championship Play will take place Saturday on the Falcon Course and Sunday on the Eagle Course. Format is stroke play — two days, 36 holes, gross and net. Gross flight winners will receive a trophy and Pro Shop credit. Number of places will be determined by number of players in each flight. Flights include Championship (all ages), Senior (55-64), Super Senior (65+), and Ladies (all ages). Entry fees are as follows: $55 - Gold AGF Members $75 - Silver AGF Members $95 - DoD/Civ/Retired/Veteran non-members $105 - non-DoD (Sponsored) Guests
Cost includes cart fees, green fees, range balls, tee gift, and admission to the Welcome Party on Friday evening. Additional guests may attend the Welcome Party for $15 admission, paid at time of registration. Festivities will include a tournament briefing, door prizes, contests, and pairings release. An awards ceremony will be held at the tournament's conclusion on Sunday. Player registration must be completed with payment by 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14 — at which time all entries become non-refundable. The Breeze Takeout Goes Green Test Period: August 5 - 30 Starts: September 3
The Breeze dining facility will soon go green with the OZZI machine, a reusable food container system for replacing the disposables to-go containers currently use. The OZZI system and 02GO reusable food containers are a cost-effective alternative to single use, to-go containers. Users are issued two coins. Each time a takeout container is requested, one coin is required. When the container is returned to the OZZI kiosk for cleaning and reuse, one coin is returned to the user. The system will be made available for permanent party Essential Station Messing (ESM), i.e. meal card Airmen, starting Sep. 3, upon completion of a testing period which will run Aug. 5-30. REGISTRATION REQUIRED July 8 - August 16 | Monday - Friday, 12 pm - 5:30 pm Early registration for Youth Soccer, Flag Football, and Cheerleading is open July 8-August 9 at the Eglin Youth Center, available Monday-Friday from noon to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $50 per child, or $100 per family. Late registration runs August 12-16, with an additional $10 fee. Volunteer coaches are needed! Coaches receive a $50 youth participation discount per family. A coaches training session will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Youth Center. PLAYER AGE GROUPS Players must be the minimum age prior to September 3, and must be under the maximum age prior to November 2. - Soccer: 5-6 / 7-9/ 10-12 - Cheerleading: 5-8 / 9-12 - Flag Football: 6-8 / 9-11 PLAYER EVALUATIONS For ages 9-12. Players under age 9 will be placed on teams without evaluation. - Flag Football: Tuesday, August 20 on Field 3 at 5:30 p.m. - Soccer: Thursday, August 22 on Field 4 at 5:30 p.m. Practices begin Tuesday, August 27, with games played every Saturday from Sep. 21 to Nov. 2 at either Eglin or Hurlburt. A mandatory parent orientation meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the Eglin Youth Center Gym. All youth participating in sports must have a current sports physical, shot record showing current flu shot, birth certificate, and recent Parent Orientation completion on file prior to starting the first day of practice. Eglin Outdoor Recreation and the Eglin Fitness Center are excited to present the first ever Dash & Splash Race at Postl Point! Start with a 2-mile run on foot, then cool off with a 200-meter swim in the bay, starting and finishing at the Outdoor Rec Center. Men's and Women's divisions will race together, and trophies will be awarded to first place winners. There will also be prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in both divisions. Snacks and beverages will be provided, and water stations will be available along the route. Participants should bring dry fit clothing, good running shoes that can get wet, water, a change of clothes, towel, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. (Note: Before the race start, participants will have the option to leave personal items in a bin to collect at the end of their race.) Registration is FREE and the first 30 registrants will receive a free t-shirt. Sign up now by contacting Outdoor Rec.
