The Eglin Youth Center provides after-school transportation during the school year for Lewis School students needing transportation to the center. Cost is $35 per child, per month or $150 per semester. The School Age Program offers morning drop services for an additional charge. This new parent support program is where new and soon-to-be dads can learn how to be an integral part of the pregnancy, childbirth, coping with crying, how to bathe a baby, and other baby care processes. • AF COOL Virtual Tour Friday • August 17 | 9 am

Air Force COOL is going Facebook Live! All Air Force enlisted personnel are invited and encouraged to participate in the AF Credential Opportunities On-Line (COOL) virtual briefing on Friday, August 17. The COOL program provides information for advancing airmen careers during active service while also preparing to compete in the civilian workforce after separation. This Facebook Live session is an opportunity to ask questions for your individual AFSC's and learn more about the COOL program's benefits. Registration Open Now thru August 17 | Mon-Fri, Noon-5:30 pm Soccer: Ages 5-13 | Flag Football: Ages 6-11 | Cheerleading: Ages 5-12

Registration for Youth Soccer, Flag Football, and Cheerleading is open now through Aug. 17 at the Eglin Youth Center, available Monday-Friday from noon to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $50 per child, or $100 per family. Player evaluations for ages 9 and above will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21 for Soccer players on Field 4, and at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23 for Flag Football players on Field 1. Practices begin Tuesday, Aug. 28, with games played every Saturday from Sep. 15 to Nov. 3 at either Eglin or Hurlburt. Youth Center | 850-882-8212

• Fishing 101 Clinics

Saturday • August 18 | 9 am

Eglin Outdoor Recreation presents Fishing 101 Clinics at Postl Point, where a professional instructor will teach the basic techniques of shoreline fishing along the bay. Instruction includes baiting, casting, reeling, and fish identification. Basic shore fishing of the bay will be taught, all in a real fishing environment. Cost for the 2-hour class is $25 and includes use of all necessary equipment and bait. Participation is open to all base personnel and their guests, ages 16 and up. Outdoor Rec | 850-882-5058

• Dog Obedience Classes

9/11 Memorial 5K Ruck or Run Friday • September 7

Opening Ceremony: 6:50 am Race Start: 7 am The Eglin Fitness Center invites all members of Team Eglin to participate in a 9/11 Memorial 5K Ruck or Run, honoring the men and women who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Start/Finish line will be at the CE Pavilion on Cypress Road. The event is FREE and open to all active duty, guard, and reserve personnel, as well as DoD civilians, contractors, and dependents. Registration is not required. Participants are asked to be in place by 6:45 a.m. An opening ceremony will be held before the race begins. Eglin Fitness Center | 850-882-6223

Classes are specialized for pups over four months of age, or adult dogs who haven't had previous training. Your canine companion will learn basic obedience commands and good doggy manners, and individual behavioral problems such as excessive barking and jumping will be addressed. Cost for each six-week course is $75 and includes everything needed to participate.

Saturday • August 25 | 7:30 am Shotgun| Eagle Course

This event offers guests who normally play at other clubs an opportunity to enjoy a day at the award-winning Eglin Golf Course! The competition is a 2-person team event, no GHIN handicap required, with three flights: Couples, Ladies, and Men. Tournament fee is $20 plus any additional golfing fees for AGF players, or $50 total for non-AGF players including guests from other clubs. Register by 10 a.m. on Friday, August 24.
