Advocacy Workshop Tuesday • September 25 | 10 am - 12 pm

EDUCATION ADVOCACY

The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Family Support Office and Disability Rights Florida are hosting an Education Advocacy Workshop to equip parents with the necessary knowledge and skills to advocate for their children in the school setting.

The workshop will be held in Bldg. 2579 (Bubble Building), 2549 Gaffney Rd. Children are invited to attend Toddler Story Time featuring crafts and story in the same building while parents engage in the workshop. The first 24 parents to register will receive a copy of "Special Needs Advocacy Resource Book" by Rich Weinfield and Michelle Davis. RSVP to francine.whittle@us.af.mil by Sep. 21.

Las Vegas Dinner Show Friday • September 28 | 6 - 9 pm

Chef Ernie’s is excited to feature Reggie Reed of the Temptations performing the hits we all know and love! Josh Sirten will open the night and join Reggie for some iconic collaborations of Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin. Admission is $10 per person. NFL Fan-Zone: Sundays at Legends

11:30 am - 6:30 pm

Pro football fans are invited to catch all the gridiron action every Sunday at Legends Sports Grill. Go fanatical as "NFL Sunday Ticket - Only on DIRECTV" is featured FREE on Legends' ten big-screen HDTVs, plus one giant projector screen. But for the ultimate viewing experience, you'll want to get into the new designated Fan-Zone!—featuring reserved recliner seating with private table, FREE popcorn, and priority food and beverage service. At the end of the season, all weekly winners will be entered to win Super Sunday Prize Packages. Recliners, big screen TVs, grills, and coolers will be given away.

Join Eglin Outdoor Recreation on a Sunrise Paddle excursion and enjoy the fresh morning air out on the water. It's a relaxing way to start your day, and you might even catch a view of dolphins when they are most active. Trip departs from Postl Point. Cost is $10 per person and includes all equipment. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water, a towel, a change of clothes, and water shoes or sandals.

• Disc Golf Tournament

Saturday • September 15 | 7:30 am

All ages and skill levels are invited to compete in the Doubles Disc Golf Tournament, taking place on the disc golf course at Postl Point. Players will compete as two-person teams in a "Best Shot" format. Two rounds will be played with a break for lunch in between. Six available divisions include: Recreation, Advanced, Intermediate, Novice, Women, and Juniors (14 and under). Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in each division. • Dog Obedience Classes

Parking Lot Sale

Saturday, October 6 8:30 am - 1 pm

Everyone with base access is invited to shop or sell at Eglin's basewide Parking Lot Sale, held on Georgia Avenue. Look for the event at the two large parking lots across the street from the Eglin Conference Center and Exchange Mini Mall.

Sellers may park in either lot and use adjacent parking spaces to display their wares. Space for sellers is FREE! Advance reservations are not required. And if you're a shopper, you won't want to miss this event! There's always an enormous selection and assortment of treasures to be found at this popular event—furniture, electronics, children's items, toys, movies, books, clothing, collectibles, sporting goods, home accessories and much more! Sellers must be in place and ready to sell at 8:30 a.m. sharp, when the event will be officially opened to shoppers. An event map can be found online at www.eglinlife.com. We'll see you at the sale! Basic Dog Obedience is just what your pup needs! Classes are specialized for pups over four months of age, or adult dogs who haven't had previous training. Your canine companion will learn basic obedience commands and good doggy manners, and individual behavioral problems such as excessive barking and jumping will be addressed. Course sessions last five weeks, with classes held for a maximum of 8 dogs.

Cost for each five-week course is $75 and includes everything needed to participate.

Skim and slide across just inches of water with Eglin Outdoor Recreation and Wild Thang Airboat Tours! This scenic 1-hour ride takes participants through marshes and grassy creeks, offering the chance to view some of Florida's wildlife in its natural habitat. See beautiful wading birds such as herons, egrets, and ospreys, or catch a glimpse of alligators sunning on the banks or dolphins at play in the bay. Cost for the excursion is $15 per person and includes transportation.

• Grand Canyon & Las Vegas Trip

Eglin Outdoor Recreation has bouncy castles in red and blue or an ocean theme, available to rent at a daily rate of $80 or a weekend (Friday-Monday) rate of $150. A $35 deposit, payable at time of registration, is required and may be applied toward the rental fee.
