First Friday at Postl Point Friday, October 1 | 3:30 - 6 pm

All Eglin personnel and families are invited to enjoy food and fun at First Friday at Postl Point! Eglin Club members will enjoy a FREE cookout with a view. Admission is $5 for all others ages 3 and up. Cookout menu includes pulled pork, sides and soft drinks, with adult beverages available for purchase. We’ll see you at Postl Point! 850-883-4255

Kayak Clinic

Saturday, October 2 | 11 am Saturday, October 16 | 11 am Get out on the water with Eglin Outdoor Recreation for an introductory Kayak Clinic at Postl Point! Learn how to use a sit-on-top kayak with the fundamentals of boat control, proper paddling apparel, potential hazards and simple rescues. Students will be able to practice maneuvering on flat water using entry-level paddling skills. Cost is $25 per person and includes instruction and kayak rental. Participation is open to all base personnel and their guests, ages 8 and up. Class size is limited, so contact Outdoor Rec to sign up early.

Paddleboard Clinic Sunday, October 3 | 11 am

Get out on the water with Eglin Outdoor Recreation for an introductory Paddle Board Clinic at Postl Point. Outdoor Rec will cover equipment, various paddling strokes and safety procedures during one hour of instruction and one hour of free paddle time. Cost is $25 per person and includes board and paddle rental. Participation is open to all base personnel and their guests, ages 8 and up. Class size is limited, so contact Outdoor Rec to sign up early. Classes may be rescheduled for inclement weather.

Movie Nights at Postl Point Fridays | 7 pm

Enjoy outdoor movies at Postl Point on Friday nights! Parking will accommodate up to 50 vehicles per show. Admission is FREE and open to all Eglin personnel and family members. Contact Outdoor Rec to learn more and register. Popcorn will be available while supplies last.

Eglin Yacht Club Dive Flight Monthly Meeting Friday, October 1 | 4:30 pm

Join the Eglin Yacht Club’s Dive Flight for the return of its monthly meetings! Come out and meet other divers, plan future dive trips and learn about future dive classes. All with base access are welcome to attend. The first meeting will be held on Friday, Oct. 1 at 4:30 p.m. at the Yacht Club & Dive Flight (Bldg 2816). Parking Lot Sale Saturday, October 2 | 8:30 am - 1 pm

Everyone with base access is invited to shop or sell at Eglin's basewide Parking Lot Sale, held on Georgia Avenue. Look for the event at the two large parking lots across the street from the Eglin Conference Center and Exchange Mini Mall. Sellers may park in either lot and use adjacent parking spaces to display their wares. Space for sellers is FREE! Advance reservations are not required. If you're a shopper, you won't want to miss this event! There's always an enormous selection and assortment of treasures to be found at this popular event—furniture, electronics, children's items, toys, movies, books, clothing, collectibles, sporting goods, home accessories and much more! Sellers must be in place and ready to sell at 8:30 a.m. when the event is officially opened to shoppers. This is a perfect opportunity to raise some extra cash for your family, group or organization—or to get some thrifty gift shopping done! Restrooms will be available at the Mini Mall. 2021 Eglin Golf Course Club Championship October 9 - 10 | Register by Noon on October 6

Golfers in the Eglin community are invited to participate in the 2021 Eglin Golf Course Club Championship! The first round on the Falcon Course will begin Saturday, Oct. 9 with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and lunch afterward, and the second round on the Eagle Course will begin Sunday, Oct. 10 with tee times starting at 9 a.m. and awards following the completion of each flight.

Entry fees are $60 for Gold AGF, $80 for Silver AGF and $100 for Non-AGF; the cost includes cart fees, green fees, range balls prior to competition rounds, the prize fund and lunch after the first round. Participants must register and provide payment by noon on Wednesday, Oct. 6. Contact the Pro Shop for more information! 850-882-2949

Volunteer Coaches Needed for Youth Basketball!

The Eglin Youth Program is excited to bring back Winter Basketball for the 2021-2022 season, and we need YOU to volunteer as a coach! Volunteer coaches will play a vital role in rebooting the Eglin Youth Sports season, and coaches training must be completed before the start of the season on Monday, Dec. 6.
