NFL Sunday Ticket at Legends

The 96th Force Support Squadron invites the entire Eglin community to a spook-tacular evening of Halloween fun at the annual Trunk or Treat FallFest! Get your scare on and bring the whole family out to Postl Point for a kid-friendly event featuring carnival games, a haunted house, zombie blast, hayrides, a not-too-spooky movie, a photo booth, and other activities. The fun kicks off at 3:30 p.m. and food will be available for purchase. At 4 p.m., make a mad dash to the start of the 1-mile Costume Fun Run/Walk, open to all ages with awards for all participants. Trunk or Treat Lane will open from 5-7 p.m., featuring vehicles decorated in their Halloween best and filled with FREE candy for kids of all ages! "Best Trunk" and "Best Squadron Trunk" first through third place prizes will be awarded. Trunk or Treat Lane will be open exclusively for EFMP families from 4:30-5 p.m. Event admission is FREE to all base personnel and their families. Eglin Outdoor Recreation is looking for at least several dozen decorated vehicles to populate Trunk or Treat Lane at this year's FallFest! If you would like to volunteer to showcase your "spooky-fied" vehicle and pass out treats to children, we would like to hear from you. First through third place Individual and Squadron "Best Trunk" winners will be awarded prizes! The Lane is open from 4:30-5 p.m. for EFMP families and from 5-7 p.m. for all others. All trunks are asked to be in their assigned space and ready for to go by 4:30 p.m. Candy supplies will be supplemented by 96 FSS while supplies last. Eglin Outdoor Recreation presents Archery Tag! Similar to dodgeball, Archery Tag is played with bows and patented foam-tipped arrows. This exciting, action-packed game offers the ultimate family-friendly experience that engages everyone. Archery Tag exists to introduce individuals to the sport of archery through a safe, fun, and unique archery experience. Cost is $10 per person and includes all equipment needed to participate. • Parents' Night Out

Eglin's Child Development Center offers a special time for parents to enjoy a "Parents' Night Out" one Saturday every month. This popular child care program provides a break for parents while children are safely supervised in a fun and exciting environment. Families with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years may sign up on a space-available basis for $25 per child. Activities for children will include games, movies and craft projects. Families eligible for FREE participation are those with referrals for the "Give Parents a Break" program (call the Airman & Family Readiness Center at 850-882-9060 for details) and U.S. Army personnel through the Army Covenant. • Scenic Trail Hike

Join Eglin Outdoor Recreation for a hiking trip along a portion of the Florida National Scenic Trail. Hikers will experience spring-fed creeks and endless plant and animal life along a 7-mile stretch of Florida's natural beauty. Participants meet at Eglin's Outdoor Recreation Center at Postl Point for an 8:30 a.m. departure. Cost is $10 per person and includes round trip transportation to the trail (about 45 minutes away) and a hiking permit. Participation is open to all base personnel and their guests, ages 8 and up. • RecOn: Indoor Bouldering Trip Saturday • October 21 | 10 am
Enjoy the outdoor sport of bouldering right here in Northwest Florida — and without the outdoors! Join Eglin Outdoor Recreation for a visit to Rock Out Climbing Gym in Destin. Rock Out is a premier indoor rock climbing facility that provides adventurers a place to seek new challenges, socialize with other active people, and enjoy an amazing workout, all while having fun. This two-hour scheduled event starts with departure time from the Eglin Outdoor Rec Center at Postl Point. Cost to participate is $10, and round trip transportation is provided. • QuickBooks Training

The Eglin Airman & Family Readiness Center is offering QuickBooks Training to spouses of Eglin's active duty Air Force, provided FREE through a grant from the Air Force Aid Society. The 5-day session of classes includes the QuickBooks Software and book for each participant, a practice test, two opportunities to test for "QuickBooks National Certification," and personalized employment assistance. Teen Volunteer Opportunities Teenagers looking for volunteer opportunities are invited to pitch in at the Eglin Youth Center! Help is needed with admin work, facility repairs, special events, and assisting in sports programs. Volunteer work is a great opportunity for teens to acquire valuable job skills, to naturally build responsibility, and to give back to their community. Gobble Wobble 5K/10K
November 9 | 2 pm | Postl Point Come out and join the Eglin Fitness Center's Gobble Wobble, featuring a 5K fun run and a 10K competitive race. Start/Finish line is at Postl Point, near the Eglin Outdoor Recreation Center. Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers of the 10K. Participation is FREE for all base personnel. Effective immediately and for the next 30 days, Eglin FCC will provide AF FCC Extended Duty Care for those families from Tyndall who may be displaced to Eglin. The Department of Defense (DoD) is launching a career pathway exploration and planning tool called Career Path DECIDE (www.careerpathdecide.org) designed specifically for Service members, Veterans, and their families. Career Path DECIDE is easy to use, requires no user account, and can be accessed from any device (desktop, tablet, or mobile). Career Path DECIDE helps users identify longer-term career goals and develop personalized strategies for accomplishing those goals.
