Doggie Dip
Friday, November 5 10 am - 12 pm and 3 - 5 pm
The dog days of summer may be over, but every dog has its day at the Eglin Pool’s Doggie Dip! All with base access are welcome to bring their dogs and enjoy the pool before it closes for the season. The pool will be open for the Doggie Dip from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 to 5 p.m. Ensure that your dog has a collar and tags, and bring towels, a leash, dog waste bags and a life jacket if needed. First Friday at Legends Friday, November 5 | 3:30 - 6 pm
All Eglin personnel and families are invited to enjoy food and fun at First Friday at Legends Sports Grill! Eglin Club members will enjoy a free meal and good company, and all Eglin Club members are eligible to win over $200 in gift cards! Admission is $5 for all others, ages 3 and up. The menu includes beef brisket, oven-roasted potatoes, southern green beans, biscuits, chocolate cake and cheesecake. Adult beverages and soft drinks will be available for purchase at the bar. Doubles Disc Golf Tournament Saturday, November 6 | 7:30 am
All ages and skill levels are invited to compete in Eglin Outdoor Recreation's Doubles Disc Golf Tournament, taking place on the disc golf course at Postl Point! Participants will play two rounds in teams of two and compete within six divisions: Recreation, Advanced, Intermediate, Novice, Women and Junior (ages 14 and under). Registration is $30 per person and includes a player pack, lunch and beverages. Players must provide their own discs. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water and insect repellent, wear good athletic shoes and play their best game! Movie Nights at Postl Point Fridays | 7 pm
Enjoy outdoor movies at Postl Point on Friday nights! Parking will accommodate up to 50 vehicles per show. Admission is FREE and open to all Eglin personnel and family members. Fight Frenzy - UFC Fight Nights at Legends Saturday, November 6 | Doors Open at 6 pm Catch all the action in the octagon with UFC Fight Nights at Legends Sports Grill! Fight Frenzy, a program from the Air Force Services Center (AFSVC), features coverage of UFC events every month. Legends will feature a special Late-Night Menu including flatbread pizzas, chicken tenders, boneless wings and more as well as full bar service! Doors open at 6 p.m. each night with preliminary fights starting at 7 p.m. on ESPN and pay-per-view fights starting at 9 p.m. All with base access are welcome to attend. 37th Annual Holiday Greeting Card Competition Register by Friday, November 12
The festive tradition continues! All base organizations are invited to show their holiday spirit and enter Eglin's 37th Annual Greeting Card Competition. Create a giant holiday card wishing season's greetings from your organization to the Eglin community. Cards will be displayed along both sides of the west section of Eglin Blvd, from the intersection at Nomad Way to the All Wars Memorial. A panel of judges will evaluate the displays based on theme, originality, and workmanship; the panel will then select 1st through 3rd place and honorable-mention winners to be awarded cash prizes totaling over $1,200. Cards must be officially registered through Chastity Aguilar (chastity.aguilar@us.af.mil), completed and displayed at their designated spots by Friday, Dec. 3 to be included in the judging on Thursday, Dec. 9. Winners will be announced and presented with awards. Turkey Bowl Championship Saturday, November 20 | Register by Monday, November 15
The Eglin Fitness Center is hosting its first annual Turkey Bowl Flag Football Championship! Each squadron will assemble its best athletes and compete for a chance to win a traveling trophy and represent the unit year-round. Active duty personnel, DoD civilians and spouses are eligible to participate. The single-elimination championship will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20 on various fields in 7v7 matches with two 20-minute halves (running clock, three timeouts per team), and the final game will be played on the Main Field. Teams can have up to 11 members; squadrons with more than 250 people can have two teams, and squadrons with more than 500 people can have three teams. Teams must register through the Fitness Center by Monday, Nov. 15, and the championship bracket and schedule will be posted on the Fitness Center’s Facebook page by Thursday, Nov. 18.
