Virtual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk Nov. 20 | Compete Anywhere! Get fit in pre-Thanksgiving fashion and enter to win a turkey or ham by participating in the Eglin Fitness Center's Virtual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk! Anyone with base access can register at the Fitness Center and submit a picture of themselves and their time no later than 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 20. Run or walk the 5K wherever you are — just be safe! Participants will be entered to win one of several hams or turkeys, and the first 25 people to register will receive a t-shirt. Winners of the ham and turkey drawings must pick up their prizes at the main Fitness Center. (850) 882-6223
Thanksgiving Day Menu at The Breeze Nov. 26 | Lunch 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Dinner 5 - 6 p.m. The Breeze Dining Facility is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Day dining event. In line with our current base posture, this event is only open to Active Duty military members, DoD Civilians and Contractors. The Thanksgiving meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 6 p.m. EntrĂŠe selections are roast turkey, baked ham, roast beef and chicken tenders. Side items include bread dressing, candied sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, steamed vegetable medley, braised kale, and macaroni & cheese. A continental breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Reservations are not required for the Thanksgiving meal.
UPCOMING EVENTS 36th Annual Greeting Card Competition Registration Now Open!
The festive tradition continues! All base organizations are invited to show their holiday spirit and enter Eglin's 36th Annual Greeting Card Competition. Create a giant holiday card wishing season's greetings from your organization to the Eglin community. Cards will be set up and displayed throughout December along both sides of the west section of Eglin Boulevard, from the intersection at Nomad Way to the All Wars Memorial. A panel of judges will evaluate the displays based on theme, originality and workmanship; the panel will then select 1st through 3rd place and honorable-mention winners to be awarded cash prizes totaling over $1,200. Cards must be officially registered for the contest at Postl Point, completed and displayed at their designated spots before Friday, Dec. 11 to be included in the judging. Movie Nights at Postl Point Nov. 20-21 | 6 p.m.
Enjoy outdoor movies at Postl Point on Friday and Saturday nights! Parking will accommodate up to 40 vehicles per show. Sign-up is required; visit www.signupgenius.com/go/odrmovies to reserve your space. Admission is FREE and open to all Eglin personnel and family members.

Turkey Trot Golf Tournament Nov. 21 | 9 a.m. Shotgun Start
Join the Eglin Golf Course for its first-ever Turkey Trot! All golfers must have a current USGA Handicap to play. Play is four-person best-ball format on the Eagle course with 100% handicap for each player. Entry fees are as follows: $30 for Gold AGF Members, $40 for Silver AGF Members, and $50 for Non-Members & Guests. Make-and-Take Fall Craft Nov. 25 | 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Get your kids in the Thanksgiving spirit with a make-and-take turkey craft at the Eglin Library! Art supplies and instructions will be provided. The craft is made for kids ages 3 and up with parental/guardian supervision. (850) 882-9308
Cut Your Own Christmas Tree Nov. 28 | 9 a.m.
Eglin Outdoor Recreation invites you on a special outing that's sure to put you in the holiday spirit! Jingle all the way to the Eglin Reservation where you can select and cut down your very own long-leaf pine Christmas tree. Outdoor Rec will then transport your tree for you, bringing it from the Reservation back to Postl Point. Cost is $15 per person and includes transportation from Postl Point to the Eglin Reservation (about a 40-minute drive). Space is very limited, so sign up early and bring along warm clothes and good shoes. (850) 882-5058
