Make-and-Take Fall Craft Nov. 25 | 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Get your kids in the Thanksgiving spirit with a make-and-take turkey craft at the Eglin Library.

Art supplies and instructions will be provided.

The craft is made for kids ages 3 and up with parental/guardian supervision. (850) 882-9308

Thanksgiving Day Menu at The Breeze Nov. 26 | Lunch 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Dinner 5 - 6 p.m.

The Breeze Dining Facility is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Day dining event. In line with our current base posture, this event is only open to Active Duty military members, DoD Civilians and Contractors. The Thanksgiving meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 to 6 p.m. EntrĂŠe selections are roast turkey, baked ham, roast beef and chicken tenders. Side items include bread dressing, candied sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, steamed vegetable medley, braised kale, and macaroni & cheese. A continental breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 9 a.m.

Reservations are not required for the Thanksgiving meal.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Full-Moon Kayak Nov. 29 | 6 p.m.

Come paddle with Eglin Outdoor Recreation out from Postl Point to see the full moon rise over the bay. This two-hour guided excursion will take participants on a kayaking trip to a small secluded beach for an amazing view of the night sky, a small fire with s'mores, and a moonlit paddle back to Postl Point. Participation is open to all base personnel and registered guests, ages 16 and older, who have some prior kayaking experience. Cost is $20 per person and includes all necessary equipment and ingredients for s'mores. Single and double kayaks are available.

Participants are encouraged to bring bottled water and a flashlight, and to wear non-cotton clothing. Date may be adjusted in the case of inclement weather conditions. Pre-registration is required, so contact Outdoor Rec to sign up. (850) 882-5058

One-Day Get Golf Ready Dec. 5 | 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Develop your golf skills in less than a day! The Eglin Golf Course presents "Get Golf Ready!"—a Saturday golf lesson for beginners or those who need a refresher. "Get Golf Ready!" is a nationwide initiative by the USGA, PGA, PGA Tour and LPGA to engage golfers, and the lessons are taught by Eglin's LPGA Professional. Topics of instruction include putting and chipping, using the right clubs, golf course etiquette, and the rules of the game. Each lesson can accommodate three to six participants, and the cost is $70 per person with lunch included. (850) 882-2949

RecOn Axe Throwing Dec. 6 | 11:50 a.m.

Join Eglin Outdoor Recreation on a trip to the axe-throwing range! Cost is $15 per person for 90 minutes of throwing time. Trip is limited to 12 people; parent/guardian signature is required for under age 18. Closed-toed shoes are recommended. Participants must provide their own transportation to The Ratchet Hatchet (304 Perry Ave SE, Fort Walton Beach, FL). Sign up at Outdoor Rec. RecOn Indoor Shooting Range Trip Dec. 12 | 7:50 a.m. or 10:50 a.m.

Eglin Outdoor Recreation is excited to visit Emerald Coast Indoor Shooting & Sport, the Florida Panhandle's newest and most modern indoor shooting range! Participants will each receive a pistol and 100 rounds of ammunition to use at their leisure, and the trip includes 1-hour each of instruction and lane time with two private instructors.

Outdoor Rec has reserved the Pistol Range featuring ten 15-yard shooting lanes. Cost is $25 per person.

Participants must be at least 13 years old and must wear closed-toed shoes and t-shirts; no spaghetti straps, tank tops or similar. Participants may provide their own transportation to the Emerald Coast Indoor Shooting Range (685 Valparaiso Pkwy, Valparaiso, FL). Register now at Outdoor Rec.
