This summer, Europe is hosting the 8th edition of the Gay Games, a global LGBT sports event, licenced by the Federation of Gay Games (FGG), in Cologne, Germany between July 31 and August 7, 2010. With a total of 35 athletic disciplines, Gay Games VIII covers a wide-ranging program that is sure to include a sport for you. Whether it’s a team effort, such as Soccer or Volleyball, or an individual/pairs event, such as Bodybuilding or Figure Skating – from Inline Speed Skating to Golf and Chess, there’s something for everyone. “Be part of it!” is not just the motto of this year’s Gay Games, it also serves as an invitation to everyone. Registrations were officially possible until May 31, and a waiting list possibility was offered after that. Volunteers, however, are still welcome and can register on the Cologne Gay Games home page.

EGLSF Info EGLSF Member’s Activities in Ukraine

NRG is a women sports club located in Kiev, Ukraine. The club started as a football team, developing into a multisport organization in response to the growing demand for such sports like volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton. The main goals of the club are to unite and develop the Ukrainian LGBT community through culture and sport, to promote healthy lifestyle and to organize leisure time for all interested people. For the 5 years of the club’s activities we have organized a number of local football, volleyball and table tennis tournaments, inviting teams from Ukraine, Russia and Moldova. NRG is a frequent participant of various sport events held not only in Ukrainian towns, but also in Frankfurt, Berlin, Chisinau, Moscow, St.Petersburg. As a member of EGLSF we took part in Annual General Assembly in Budapest and Manchester and in the 2nd EGLSF Conference Football against Homophobia in Berlin this year. On June 5, 2010 NRG hosted a futsal tournament for the forth year in a row to celebrate equality, friendship and healthy lifestyle. The tournament brought together 6 women teams from Ukrainian cities of Kiev, Lviv and Lutsk, as well as two squads from Moscow, Russia. Thanks to the support of IGLFA this year’s event was held at a much higher level than

before, with a decent playing hall and beautiful awards for the winners being widely appreciated by the participants and guests of the tournament More info: http://nrg.in.ua info@nrg.in.ua
