Internal Affairs & International Cooperation Tolerance November 16 was recognised by the UN as the International Day for Tolerance. Although the aim is noble, we are calling upon the world to upgrade tolerance with respect, acceptance and inclusion. One of the most effective way towards this path is education and knowledge. ACCEPTANCE rules! Do not forget the 20th anniversary of the World AIDS day on December 1! Stop AIDS. Keep the promise.

The annual general assembly of EGLSF will be held on the 7th-8th of March in The Hague. EGLSF will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year, and the hosts of our assembly will organize a conference including workshops on the 6th of March 2009 – “Building Bridges 3”. The topic of the conference is the position of LGBT people in sports. The board highly encourages all of you to participate in the conference and the workshops. The invitation for the general assembly including information about accommodation will be sent to you in December. In regards to outreach and AGA, we strongly encourage our member clubs to support the participation of delegates from outreach clubs. You may do this in two ways:
“Tolerance without acceptance is a broken promise.” author unknown
A. Directly support delegates from outreach clubs. B. Donate an amount to EGLSF.

AGA 2009 As already noted, the conference at the occasion of the 20th birthday of EGLSF will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009. An announcement of the conference will be sent by the organizers to memberslist of EGLSF and other stakeholders shortly. The General Assembly (AGA) will be on Saturday and Sunday, March 7&8, 2009. Accommodation EGLSF has made special arrangements with a hotel in the city centre of The Hague. We will inform you very soon how to make use of this arrangement. Housted housing will also be available. Travel options If you come by air, the nearest airport is Rotterdam Airport. Transavia has lowpriced flights to Rotterdam from several cities (www.transavia.com).
All major Airlines fly to Schiphol Amsterdam Airport which has a direct connection with The Hague by train. This takes about 30 minutes. Trains operate every 15 minutes. Eindhoven Airport has a lot of low cost airlines and is a hub for Ryanair (www. ryanair.com) and WizzAir (www.wizzair. com). Travelling to he Hague takes a 1,5 hours by train.
E-voting results We are very proud to announce that the first electronic voting organized by the board of EGLSF was successfu! We reached the quorum of 40% so the results of the electronic voting are valid. Maximum number of votes by EGLSF members: 173 (100%). Total number of votes received by the board: 70 (40,5%).
If you plan to travel to Brussels airport (Brussels National / Zaventem) it takes 2 hours by train extra to travel to The Hague.
Proposal 1: I agree/Our club agrees there will be big EuroGames in 2011 and small EuroGames in 2012. Yes: 60 votes - No: 7 votes - Abs: 3 votes
We also suggest to check www.dohop. com and www.skyscanner.net for all flight possibilities.
Proposal 2: Besides the election of the EuroGames 2011 organizers, our club agrees that the election of the organizers of EuroGames 2012 will also take place at the AGA 2009 in The Hague. Yes: 54 votes - No: 12 votes - Abs: 1 vote
We highly recommend members form Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland and London (UK) to take a look at www. nshispeed.nl. Fast and direct connections are offered by hi speed trains to major cities in these countries. Price are very affordable and comfort is high. The board requests all member clubs to consider supporting outreach clubs, in order to make the participation in our anniversary and assembly possible for as many of our members as possible.
We received 6 additional votes after the last day day voting was possible. These votes have NOT been counted in the above mentioned results. All 6 votes were in favor of both proposals. It may seem a result of a little bit more than 40% is not very convincing. However if you take into account that on average participation at an AGA the members being present represent about 80 votes, we are extremely proud the topic of EuroGames is very much alive. At the

next AGA in The Hague 7-8th of March 2009, we will surely discuss more about different aspects of EuroGames. Before the end of this month, we will receive the draft bid books from the bidding organizations for big EuroGames in 2011 and for small EuroGames in 2012. In the beginning of 2009, together with the AGA papers, the bid books of all bidding organizations will be sent to EGLSF members by regular mail. We hope you are looking forward to these proposals as much as we do. Thank you all for your cooperation and willingness to work together for a bright future of EuroGames; The European LGBT Sport Championships!
