In 1994 Yitzhak Rabin and King Hussein signed a peace treaty between Israel and Jordan
“His Majesty King Hussein, President William J. Clinton We live at the same area. It is the same rain that waters our lands. The same heat that dries our fields. We live under the same vine whose fruit we eat. We drink from the same well. Just a 70 minute drive separates Jerusalem and Amman. 70 minutes and 46 years. Just as we were great enemies, so to we can be good neighbors. Mr. King, we have seen much in our lives. To much suffering. What will you pass to your children? What will I leave to my grandson? I have no assets; I have only dreams. To pass on to future generations a better world, a more conciliatory, pleasant world to live. It is not to much..
