One thing that I think is unique to Scheck Hillel Community School is the focus placed on teaching us to be good people. Our teachers try to focus on how we can be moral, kind and giving people. Therefore, I acquired the skill of self-reflection, as there is always room to grow.” d“cb

OUR STORY NOW Today, Scheck Hillel is one of the largest Jewish day schools in the world. Our program of studies delivers a comprehensive college preparatory experience within the framework of a rigorous dual curriculum in General and Judaic Studies. Our students develop the tools and skills to become active, compassionate participants in a global society as they explore who they want to become as individuals. Faculty are partners in discovery, serving as expert guides in the educational process. Alumni make a difference throughout the world and also return home as parents and as talented members of faculty and staff.

THEN A vision conceived by a handful of families in the late 1960s became a reality in 1970, when Scheck Hillel Community School was founded as an early childhood-Grade 8 school in a storefront. In 1976, the school moved to its present 14-acre site in North Miami Beach. The school expanded in 1990 to include the Ben Lipson High School. The Samuel and Henrietta Scheck Middle School and the Juda and Maria Diener Elementary School were named in 2003. In 2011, Scheck Hillel was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education.

OUR VISION

Our vision is dedicated to people, place and purpose. People describes the recruitment and retention of passionate students and the finest faculty, united by a purpose to set the new standard for Jewish education. Place refers to the physical expression of our educational mission. Connecting people, place and purpose, our first priority is an Early Childhood-Grade 12 Innovation Center to enhance learning across the curriculum. A Beit Midrash will preserve heritage as the neshama (soul) and spiritual core of our school. The building's design will reflect a contemporary approach to instruction to continue attracting inquisitive students and expert teachers. Planning for the future means more than campus expansion. It means enriching the student experience and developing our children as mensches, as faithful, proud, globally minded, compassionate Jews. 12
