CELEBRATING A CENTURY OF STYLE Zur Feier ihres 100-jährigen Bestehens hat sich die britische Brand Farah mit dem angesagten Londoner Menswear-Label YMC für eine exklusive Kollektion zusammengetan. Entworfen wurden die Looks von YMC-Mitbegründer Fraser Moss. Sie spiegeln lässig den Spirit beider Brands wider: Im kreativen Fokus stehen Musik und Kunst, ihre Einflüsse aufeinander erzeugen spannende Fashion-Storys.

Die Gemeinsamkeit beider Marken liegt in ihrer besonderen Affinität zu Randkulturen, die auch die Inspiration für die meisten ihrer Designs darstellen. Bei Farah ist es seit Langem die britische Untergrundkultur – vor allem die Mods der Sixties und die Rudeboys der Seventies, die gegen ihren grauen Alltag mit coolen Styles antanzten. Das goldene F-Emblem signalisierte für viele eine musikalische Zugehörigkeit – ein Zeichen der Verbundenheit. Das Ergebnis der Kooperation sind 15 ausgewählte Styles aus dem Farah-Archiv, mit denen Farah und YMC einen sehr modernen Blick auf die Rudeboy-Subkultur werfen. Wenn man eine Sache richtig gut machen will, sollte man sich auf diese Sache voll und ganz konzentrieren. Das hatten wohl auch die Gründer des jungen Labels RANZN im Sinn, als sie sich an die Forschung nach dem perfekten Rucksack gemacht haben. Auch feste Institutionen bleiben in Bewegung: Das 2008 gegründete Lucky Six Tattoo sticht seit Oktober 2015 seine farbigen Hautbilder in der Stargarder Straße. Acht Tätowierer und wechselnde Gasttätowierer, alle seit Jahren im Geschäft und jeder mit eigenem Style, nehmen sich viel Zeit für eine professionelle Beratung. Established institutions can also be in motion: established in 2008 Lucky Six Tattoo is now inking its colourful pics at its new place on Stargarder Straße. Eight tattoo artists plus alternating guest artists, all in the business for many years, and each with their own style, make lots of time for personal in-depth consulting. The quality of each tattoo stands out and of course all the work is carried out to the latest hygiene standards. And please don‘t ask—yes, it hurts!
