Reformation and music 2012 - Bach meets Luther Where else do Johann Sebastian Bach and Martin Luther get as close to each other as in Eisenach? Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Eisenach, and about 200 years later he attended the same Latin school as Martin Luther. Both of them sang in the Eisenacher Kurrende, the oldest protestant choir of Eisenach that still exists today. Seat yourself in
the pews of the Georgenkirche in which once the 14-year-old Martin Luther and the 9-year-old Johann Sebastian Bach were sitting. Luther and Bach are to the fore of an exhibition that can be visited from 25 February to 11 November 2012 in the Bachhaus. Come and visit the sounding museum and the world’s
largest exhibition on life and works of the famous composer Johann Sebastian Bach during an exclusive evening tour through the Bachhaus. For the guided tour every guest gets their own “Segway” and a detailed briefing. After about 5 minutes of familiarisation you can ride the Segway thanks to the modern computer system.
