Overview:
Who Will Benefit:
An Open Source project cannot, and should not, be managed and run the same as you would do so with an internal or proprietary effort. The lifeblood of Open Source projects are healthy and viable communities, and so to manage those projects, or even to interact with them, requires a deep understanding of what Open Source is, the reasons behind the Open Source movement, and how to realize that it's not about control but rather influence. Understanding the culture of Open Source projects allows you to more effectively manage Open Source projects under your purview as well as those people also involved in the project itself.
