Talent Pipeline and Leadership Development
The ELC is committed to advancing the role and contributions of Black executives and preparing the next generation of corporate leaders through a series of programs and events created by our Institute for Leadership Development and Research. These offerings enable us to open channels of opportunity for the development of Black executives to positively impact business and our communities. The Institute aims to strengthen the talent pipeline of Black leaders, providing top-rate leadership programs that focus on individual growth at different career levels.

LDW serves as a premier corporate leadership summit meticulously crafted to empower the next generation of Black executive leaders with the fluency and proficiency needed to ascend the executive ranks. LDW is designed to identify and practice leadership competencies for every stage of professional experience across industry or function which is why it is comprised of five unique learning cohorts across career levels. LDW attendees should expect to 1) identify and explore the emotional intelligence model and its role in cultivating Black executive leaders 2) create a blueprint for their career design 3) network with peers across industries 4) participate in keynote events featuring ELC Members.

Leadership Development Week (LDW) consists of six development courses running concurrently, conducted by The ELC’s Institute aimed at building the pipeline of well-prepared and successful Black executives. The Power of Women at Work (POWW) is a one-day virtual symposium designed to equip Black women with the tools they need to navigate their ascension to executive leadership with purpose, grit and grace. The event features candid conversations with executive leaders across industry and function who offer insights and engagement around how to achieve success on your terms. Participants of this event will 1) interact with executive leaders and presenters 2) engage in facilitated networking 3) define authentic leadership and professional purpose.

This program is designed to cultivate and connect the next class of Black chief executives through live instruction addressing the need for executives to be emotionally competent operators in increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous business environments.
Participants of this course will be within one or two promotion levels of the C-Suite and will 1) explore unique challenges for Black leadership in an evolving social, racial, and complex environment on the path to the C-Suite 2) Examine current leadership sources of power and how to leverage them to drive change 3) Practice achieving results through influence and 4) Apply frameworks and innovative techniques to solve complex problems.
