Stress and the Human Body 1. Stress that happens for more than two or three weeks is bad for you. Read about the effects* of stress on the human body. Stress gives you headaches.
Your brain tells your heart to work hard and beat fast. Over time, your heart gets tired of working hard.
Your brain tells your liver to make more sugar for energy**. When your body makes too much sugar, your body does not use it. The sugar turns to fat. You gain weight.
Stress gives you stomachaches.
When you feel stress, you cannot sleep well. You feel tired and depressed. **energy = physical action

5 Tips* to Take Better Notes Students in Class
Do you write things your teacher says in your notebook? You are taking notes when you write words and ideas in your notebook. Here are 5 tips to help you take notes in class. 1. Learn some tips to take better notes. Tips to Take Notes
A. Write short notes. Do not try to write every word your teacher says in your notebook. Teacher: “Please buy the textbook.” Student writes: buy book B. Use note taking **symbols. Here are examples: $ = money % = percent = happy
= don’t
**symbol – a picture that represents a word
C. Pay attention to the teacher. If you cannot write what your teacher says, stop writing. You can ask your classmates or your teacher for help later.

D. Use abbreviations. Look at the examples.
