Pack a Puppy or Karry a Kitty

Did you know there’s a way you can help save a life here in Puerto Rico? We know that it’s just not the right time to add a new pet to the family for some. But did you know there’s a great way you can help at no cost while you are visiting or on vacation? Every day the wonderful organizations in Rincón and the island rescue, socialize, and find new homes for puppies and kittens on the mainland. However, getting them to their new family is not always easy; here is where you can help. During COVID-19, fewer people have been traveling, and it has become harder to transport pets to their new homes. We’ve made it simple for you to give a second chance of a beautiful life to one of our furry ones. Here’s how it works:

We meet you on the morning of your return flight, either where you are staying or at the airport, to introduce you to your traveling companion. We pay for all the puppy or kitten expenses, including the flight fee, traveling case, vet expenses, and anything else that may be needed. All you have to do is “Pack a Puppy or karry a Kitty” to travel under your seat on the flight and meet the new adoptive family at the destination airport. How easy is that! How do you let us know that you want to help? Well, that’s easy too! We have created a Facebook page for people who would like to help with transport. Our page is called Puerto Rico Travelers Flight Angel. Here all the rescuers look to see who has signed up and will contact you directly, all we need to know is where you are flying to, the date and time of your flight and which airline you are traveling on. Another of the problems here that has been made even worse by COVID 19 is there is not enough availability at the Vet clinics to enable us to spay and neuter all the stray animals here, we are waiting months for spay and neuter appointments and meanwhile the stray population increases and we have no room to take in more rescues, its a never ending circle. So PLEASE think about all the love you will be sharing by helping a fur baby reach its new home. Plus, you get to snuggle them on the way! Now that’s got to beat reading the inflight magazine! ¿Sabías que hay una manera en la que puedes ayudar a salvar una vida aquí en Puerto Rico? Sabemos que para algunos no es el momento adecuado para agregar una nueva mascota a la familia. Pero, ¿sabía que hay una excelente manera de ayudar sin costo alguno mientras estás de visita o de vacaciones? Todos los días, las maravillosas organizaciones de Rincón y la isla rescatan, socializan y encuentran nuevos hogares para cachorros y gatitos en los Estados Unidos. Sin embargo, llevarlos a su nueva familia no siempre es fácil; aquí es donde puedes ayudar. Durante COVID-19, menos personas han estado viajando y se ha vuelto más difícil transportar mascotas a sus nuevos hogares. Pero lo hecho simple para que ayudes a dar una segunda oportunidad a uno de nuestros amigos peludos. Así es como funciona: Nos encontramos contigo en la mañana de tu vuelo de regreso, ya sea en el hospedaje o en el aeropuerto, para presentarle a tu compañero de viaje. Pagamos todos los gastos del cachorro o gatito, incluida la tarifa de vuelo, el estuche de viaje, los gastos del veterinario y cualquier otra cosa que pueda ser necesaria. Todo lo que tienes que hacer es Empacar un cachorro o llevar un gatito debajo de tu asiento en el vuelo y encontrarte con a la familia adoptiva en el aeropuerto de destino. ¡Cuán fácil es eso! ¿Cómo nos hace saber que quiere ayudar? Bueno, ¡eso también es fácil! Hemos creado una página de Facebook para personas que deseen ayudar con el transporte. Nuestra página se llama Puerto Rico Travelers Flight Angel. Envíanos un mensaje y los rescatistas se comunicarán con usted. Todo lo que necesitamos saber es su destino, la fecha y hora de su vuelo y en qué aerolínea viaja.

Otro problema es no encontrar suficientes clínicas veterinarias para esterilizar y castrar a todos los perros y gatos callejeros. El COVID-19 ha dificultado la realización de citas teniendo que esperar meses. Mientras tanto, la población sin hogar sigue aumentando, y ya no nos queda espacio para rescatarlos, convirtiéndonos en un círculo sin fin. Así que, POR FAVOR, considere todo el amor que compartirá al ayudar a un bebé peludo a llegar a su nuevo hogar. Además, ¡puedes acurrucarlos en el camino! ¡Eso es mejor que leer la revista a bordo!
