«Creativity is intelligence having fun», Einstein said, and this is our intention: that as you are looking through the pages of The Sewing Box you find something to entertain you, stimulate your creativity and that you can do it all with the necessary materials close at hand. Creativity and the need to make something of our own, is what children’s design brands do, and that is what we are featuring in this edition, “handmade”, Txell, Lorena, o Tania, among others, are giving the steps used to create their own small businesses and we have their first-person accounts from which we are sure, you’ll be able to learn lessons from their experiences. Creating can be something contagious, if you work and put it into practice; we have asked various illustrators who have inspired us by their work to make a step by step tutorial in knitting, embroidery or simply trimming. Also, because imagination has triggered us to take a look at the clothing overlooked in our own closets, we are giving you a few ideas to transform them into something more current. In addition, as we like celebrating and discovering new flavours and locations, I’m sure that our section on DIY celebrations will help you create a beautiful picnic. You can use all of the material at the end of this publication to do it.

One of their goals is to take their paintings of nails to the next level, making them installations, windows and larger projects. We have tested and experimented with different processes and techniques, always looking for the best way to bring our ideas to life. We like working with natural materials such as wood, cork, fabrics, paper; we play with shapes, textures, etc. The Morgans’ creations are beginning to be known among decorators, interior designers and fans of handmade products, and anyone looking for something different midway between contemporary craft, design and art in its most basic concept.

Although the workshop where these very adorable bears were born was founded in 2010, Nadya and Tanya’s love, colleagues in this business adventure, for unique pieces, the handmade and the simple things, goes back to a childhood in which the hum of sewing machines still brings happiness to the protagonists of this story.

«As a child I was always interested in knowing how things work, opening items and experimenting with them. Unfortunately after a certain age I felt it was something that was not for girls and slowly became disinterested. Obviously I am very sorry to have lost all the things I could have learned. I would think that with these types of crafts that mark the borders between stereotypes of what is supposed to be for one sex or the other are blurred and that now so many boys and girls can have fun sewing or
