Troubleshooting The IWB Pen is not working! Check if there is a red cross on the little Activstudio Icon in the bottom right hand corner. To fix this you need to configure the IWB. You can do this by clicking on the Activboard icon on the right hand side of the screen. Then select the configure option. Run the configuration by clicking start. The status will tell you if the configuration was successful or not.

If the configuration fails to fix the pen, check if the image is projected within the marked areas on the IWB Board. If the image is projecting outside the marked area, adjust the image projection on the projector. If the configuration and the projection are correct then the pen might be faulty. The cursor is not following IWB Pen precisely! You can easily fix this by calibrating the pen (See page 7 of this booklet under how to Calibrate.) The pen keeps doing joined up writing! This happens if the nib (nib-stick) of the pen is stuck inside at the back. To fix this, just pull out the nib to loosen it. The pen clicks on to activate operations when not intended! This also happens if the nib (nib-stick) of the pen is stuck inside at the back. To fix this, just pull out the nib to loosen it. The computer output is not appearing on the IWB screen! This happens if an incorrect channel is selected on the projector. The projector is more likely to be set to output from the Video. To fix this, use the remote control to change the input channel to RGB (Computer).

16

The video or DVD is not projecting on the IWB screen! This can happen if an incorrect channel is selected on the projector. The projector is more likely to be set to output RGB (Computer). To fix this, use the remote control to change the input channel to Video (S-Video in some rooms) This can also happen if the wrong device is selected on the DVD and Video Player. To fix this you need to use the DVD and Video player remote control or the button on the player. To project the DVD you need to select DVD and to project the VCR you need to select the VCR on the player.

(See the instructions under Video and DVD

player) The sound is not working! This can happen if the Amplifier is switched off or the wrong Sound Channel is selected on the Amplifier. To fix this make sure that the Amplifier is switched ON, adjust the Sound Channel and also check if the volume is not turned right down on the Amplifier. (See the instruction booklet under Amplifier) The remote control is not working! In the most cases this occurs when the batteries in the remote control run out. If this is the case, the batteries need replacing to fix this. (See the instruction booklet under projectors) The wireless keyboard is not working! This can happen if the wireless play station (mouse-like device attached to the IWB computer) is not communicating (this should also affect the mouse) with the keyboard or the batteries in the keyboard have run out. To fix this, first place the device outside the cabinet where it can communicate directly with the keyboard. There is a small button on this device, press the button to activate it. If it is still not working then it sounds like the batteries have run out. The wireless mouse is not working! This can happen if the wireless play station (mouse-like device attached to the IWB computer) is not communicating (this should also affect the keyboard) with the mouse or the batteries in the mouse have run out.
