Logging into Xtranormal To login into Xtranormal you will require a username and password. You may wish to create yourself an account using your email address.
Create a new account – you require an email address for this.
Sign in – you must have already registered an account.
Creating your First Movie When you’ve logged in, you should click Make Movies on the Menu Bar.
This will take you to the Character and Scene options (ShowPaks).
NB Only Certain Characters/ShowPaks are Free of Charge.
ShowPaks Below is the available showpaks:
Making a Movie Click on one of the showpaks and choose either one or two characters.
You will then be taken to this Movie Direction Screen. Characters Action Buttons

Camera
Change Scenes and
Publish

*Only certain characters and scenes are free look for the $ symbol next to the character.
Starting your Movie To start your characters talking, click the character and then start typing in the box (hint: you may wish to add pauses in between sentences)
To allow your next character to talk click the + sign underneath the text box.
Actions There are a variety of different actions and animations you can get your character to do.
Animations First click on the
and drag it where you want it to appear in your Script box, a pop-up box
will appear for you to choose your actions.
Preview the Animation Animation List
Apply the Animation Hint: You animation will play once you preview your movie.
Expressions First click on the
and drag it where you want it to appear in your Script box, a pop-up box will
appear for you to choose your actions.
The Pop-up box will appear as above.
Looks This gets the character to look at the current camera. (Hint: if you use Magicam then you will not need looks)
Points These are hand gestures for your character. You need to click on the points icon and drag it into your script box.
Pauses These are pauses for the character speaking. You will need to click and drag the pause into the script box.
Sounds These are for during the conversation, and they will interrupt speech. You will need to click and drag the sounds into the script box.
Magicam Use the Magicam to automatically change the camera angles to focus on the characters speech and movements.
Previewing the Movie When you’ve finished your Movie you can choose to preview it. This takes a short while and will allow you to play when the message on screen has disappeared.
Publishing Your Movie When you’ve finished with your Movie select the Publish Button.
You will need to give your Movie a title and possibly a description.
You’re Movie will take a short while to publish and so I suggested you don’t wait around for it to finish.
To find your Movies again, log into Xtranormal and click My Movies and You will see your Movie.
Sharing your Movie There are a variety of ways, you can share you’re movie, either via Facebook, Twitter or YouTube. Or email the URL to people. Or Embed it into a Webpage or Moodle. When you’ve decided where you want to share this, it will be next to your Movie once published.
