MARCH 2016

“ DAUNTLESS” KAWAYAN CAMP 2016 Throughout the years, Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship Philippines continues to respond to its calling of equipping future servant-leaders. One of our avenues in training today’s young people is through our one-month intensive leadership training camp we call Kawayan Camp (KC). KC is specifically designed for students who desire to be effective witnesses of the Lord Jesus Christ in their campuses, churches and community. This year’s KC will be held at Camp Bato, Manatad, Sibonga, Cebu on April 5 to May 2, 2016. Our camp theme, Dauntless, is based from Jeremiah 1:5-8. This year, nine dauntless young souls have responded to God’s invitation. These college students desire not only to grow as campus leaders but more importantly to grow as Christians. Let us know more of them and their desires through their testimonies below. Camp Rationale Why “dauntless”? In the age where wrong is made right and truth is questioned, it is our desire to see the young people stand up for what is right no matter how daunting the world is. We hope to help our campers be dauntless in speaking intelligently as one commissioned by God and fearless to speak powerfully in righteousness. When we no longer do what we are called to do, the glory of God in the campuses is at stake. The future of the next generation is at stake. We need you to help us obey the call of reaching, discipling, and training our future leaders. We need your support to keep declaring the glory of God in the colleges and universities.

INTRODUCING OUR “ DAUNTLESS”

KAWAYAN CAMP

2016 ASPIRANTS FROM CEVRU “I want to join KC 2016 to learn more on how to be a good youth leader in my church, and how to spread the Gospel effectively in my campus. I want to be trained in the Bible and to learn how to be grounded in God’s Word in everything that I do.”

"I want to join KC 2016 to be trained in spiritual maturity. It is my greatest desire to be used as the Lord's servant in fulfilling the Great Commission. I want to overcome my fear and develop the character of being dauntless. Fearless in facing the people. Fearless in giving my time and effort to the public reading of the Scriptures and preaching until the Lord comes. And fearless in redeeming the time because the days are evil. I believe that the loving God is through doing His will willingly, and to do His will is to conquer the fear that is in me." JOVANNA JEANE BARRETE BSED-Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Bohol Island State University (BISU)

“I want to join KC 2016 to be equipped with the things that a Christian disciple characterizes. I want to serve the Lord by sharing His Word to people. I want to learn more about God, to discover Him more and be used by Him.”

LIANE ANGELI RABUYA BS Electronics and Communication Engineering (BSECE) University of San Carlos – Talamban Campus (USC-TC) "I want to join KC 2016 because I want to be mature as a Christian and I don't want to remain stagnant. By God's grace, I want that my life to be aligned in God's purposes for me. Through this camp, I want to be equipped, in order for me to have the boldness and courage to share the Gospel to my campus, especially to those who do not know God yet."
