CALEB WEISS
The son of Joe and Tammy Weiss of Monticello, Caleb is a Rising Star of Indiana, a scholastic award recognizing the top four students from each Indiana high school. He is a member of the National Honor Society, currently serving as treasurer.
Caleb is a member of the Twin Lakes Student Council and has served as his class president for three years. Also, for three years, he has been a member and served as treasurer of the Business Professionals of America’s local chapter. In 2022, Caleb placed tenth in computer modeling in the Business Professionals of America’s national competition in Dallas, Texas.
Caleb is a member of the Twin Lakes JV golf and tennis teams. He is a member of the varsity swimming team, serving as captain and a three-time individual sectional finalist. He is a member of the Monticello Strokers Swim Club, assisting as a junior coach.
In 2022, Cale played tennis on the high school team. He is also a member of the newly formed Dungeons and Dragons club.
“While on the Youth Tour, I’m looking forward to learning more about the work politicians do,” said Cale. “I’m also excited to see all the monuments.
“I’ve never been to D.C., and I’m really looking forward to finally going. In my eighth-grade year, the school planned a trip to Washington, D.C., however, the trip was canceled because of COVID-19 and the beginning of the quarantine.
“I will use this experience to learn more about the National Capital and the political process,” Cale said. “This will give me a chance to determine if I would like to pursue a career in politics!”
The Twin Lakes High School theatre has been a major part of Caleb’s extracurricular activities. Both the fall productions and spring musicals have benefited from his talents. Caleb played Big Jule in “Guys and Dolls,” the Mayor of Munchkin City in “The Wizard of Oz” and Lurch in this year’s production of “The Addams Family.” Weekly, Caleb serves as an usher at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church.
