While aesthetics is important in graphic design, for me what’s more important is functionality. Some of the best design I’ve ever seen is not just beautiful but also has the ability to communite and serve a meaningful function. Furthermore the hallmark of a good designer is someone who can cut through the clutter and execute good ideas. At the
end of the day design means nothing if it can’t be properly executed. I want to build on the foundation of design in a way that reflects on its past but sees into its future. I want to make things more fun because in today’s world we are too caught up in the drivel of life. I’m taking this opportunity to make the world interesting again.

JP3 Redesign of JP3 by Junglepussy. This project was inspired by the Avant Garde movement in graphic design, looking deeper into the designs of Russian constructivism and futurism. I was particularly inspired by the poetic and expressive forms of Alexander Rodchenko and the color pallete of Dada graphic design. The philosophy of freedom in design, a rejection of limitations, and the ultimate
creative expressio of forms in typography motivated me to create a concept that embraced all of this reimagined into the 21st century.Junglepussy’s brilliant third album explores what it means to be a black woman in America and I wanted to continue that same exploration in a typographic album pacakage that includes the cover itself, inner sleve, and vinyl sticker.

Abolish the College Project Partner: Shukang Yu Published in the Daily Heller by Steven Heller as a part of Print Magazine.
As a political tool, graphic design is extremely powerful. With good design, messages of influence can be displayed and understood by the masses. In 2020, a pivotal election year, I wanted to create a project that highlights one of the most absurd concepts in the American political system, the electoral college. Abolish the College is a pro-
paganda campaign that highlights the rediculousness of the American electoral college by pointing out its failures and highlighting the popular vote. With this campaign I wanted to use bold type and imagery as a tool to grab viewers and make them think about this system as a whole and how it can be reformed.
Sutnzra Published by the SVA MFA Design Blog
Sutnzra is a typeface I designed inspired by the work of Ladislav Sutnar. The work of Sutnar is a deep and rich collection in which he explores bold and perplexing gemoetry as a uniting factor in design. The conclusion is a bold design aesthetic that has a place among the pantheon of great European designers. For this typeface, I was particularly
inspired by the juxtaposing thick and thin lines and how they worked with thicker forms. I wanted to explore a particular type of freedom in type design, one that doesn’t look at letterforms as fragile beings rather as shapes that can be maniuplated and distorted.
Wag Bone In an effort to make design fun and happy, I created a magazine called Wag Bone that is dedicated to stories about dogs and their owners. Inspired by the Modern Love section of the New York Times, I wanted to create a literary publication that includes essays and analyses on dogs and how they have become an integral part of our lives and our
culture as a whole. These stories are meant to bring brevity during a time of chaos and provide comfort to everyone, dog or cat lover. These stories are personal and journalistic, highlighting the fact that dogs are not only man’s best friend but also a family member, confidant, and loyal lifelong companion who stick with us every step of the way.
Like what you see? Hey welcome back. I hope you like my portfolio. I put a lot of hard work into it and it was a lot of fun to make.
I describe my style as bold, aggressive, and elegant. I like to make people feel like they are experiencing something.
I am trying to become the best designer I can possibly be and I hope you join me on this journey.
