What’s Cooking in Kitchen Cabinetry
by Marie Stubbs, Decorum Cabinetry and Flooring
Choices in modern kitchen cabinetry are practically unlimited. Today, trends in styles and colors are abundant. People want to add a personal unique touch to their kitchen that stands out and will be remembered by friends and family while helping them feel more at home. Here we’ll share some popular trends we’re seeing at Decorum and the services we can offer.
We often only think of white kitchens as the staple of the industry, but if you chose to have a white kitchen there are now many shades of white offered in warm and cool tones to suit any mood or style. In recent years, more people have been choosing bright cabinets that make your kitchen pop. Another new trend we’re seeing more often is mixing colors in the kitchen. For example, pairing white cabinets with a gray island or bright blue cabinets with beautiful low luster gold hardware.
Shaker cabinets have been growing in popularity and will likely continue to be a kitchen trend in 2022. So many people choose shaker cabinets because of their simplicity. That simplicity lends itself to great accent pieces, as well as abundant color options and unique hardware. Shaker cabinets are practically timeless.
Another new trend we’re seeing is natural wood finishes. Clients are combining natural wood finishes and colored cabinets for a warm and friendly ambiance. For example, a wood island and over the stove hood serve to accent colored cabinets. Some clients choose all-natural wood kitchens then use special hardware to give the all-wood look a distinct accent and complete the kitchen with beautiful quartz or granite countertops.
Kitchen remodels and new kitchens can add a ton of unnecessary stress to your already jam-packed life. On top of tight work deadlines, family obligations, socializing with friends, as well as everything else you have to worry about, you don’t want to waste your time going back and forth on kitchen cabinets, hardware, and kitchen accessory choices.
