It all started with a dream, a prayer, a vision…and just a handful of people. Now, HOMESTAR is celebrating 20 years of excellence with over 860 employees. Having achieved #1 Mortgage Purchase Lender in Georgia for the past three years (Jumbo, FHA, CONV, USDA, VA), 2016 USDA Lender of Excellence, as well as being awarded the “Outstanding Georgia Business” title by Governor Brian Kemp along with Georgia State Representative Terry Rogers at the state capitol in 2016, we are thrilled to be ranked one of the Top Mortgage Purchase Lenders Nationwide. HOMESTAR is licensed in 31 states, with our roots in Gainesville, Georgia.

HOMESTAR’s mission is to make the mortgage process as streamlined as possible to ensure borrowers find the “easiest way home.” With that in mind, we are excited to announce the release of the My HOMESTAR Mortgage app. When downloaded to a mobile device, our new app allows borrowers to submit an application, securely upload documents, and check the status of their loan.

Technology can provide an advantage, but our secret weapon is the team of people who make up HOMESTAR. With our leadership team always listening and ensuring the corporate team has the needed items for success, our local team is always working closely together. As Branch Manager, I have assembled a stellar team that believes in the vision of homeownership. As a Brunswick native, I firmly believe in giving back to the community, and I work with Morningstar Children’s Services and actively support Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Mortgage Loan Originators Cindy Couturier, Sharon Spradley, Kurtis McNeil, and Patricia Small have many years of banking and lending experience in Coastal Georgia. All are very skilled in various lending programs, including Conventional, Jumbo, VA, FHA, USDA, and several Down Payment Assistance programs. They also offer niche products for high-wealth clients and investors.

As the team grew, I began looking for support staff, and was thrilled to hire Ashley Moore and Amanda Yarbrough. Having worked with them when they were in management, I knew they possessed the skills and leadership necessary for success. Kia Norris uses her organizational skills to better assist borrowers. Having Brittni Faircloth as Processor rounds out our team, who all work closely together on closings. The newest addition is Gabrielle Johnson, who heads up our marketing and education programs. As trusted mortgage advisors, the Hale Team’s mission is to educate and empower residents to understand how much of a financial foundation homeownership truly is.
