A HEAVENLY PRODUCTION

Brunswick Actors Theatre presents A Higher Place in Heaven by Pamela Parker on June 11-12, 18-19, 25-26. A prequel to Parker’s Second Samuel, set in 1925, A Higher Place in Heaven takes place on the front porch of New Hope, the home just outside the town of Second Samuel, where Miss Madison, her longtime friend and servant, Miss Simpson, and their sons, live a quiet life. That is, quiet until visiting family discover a document that would forever change the history of New Hope and its residents’ lives. Filled with laughter and tears, anger and forgiveness, this touching story speaks to divisions that we still struggle with today. It also shows that, no matter our differences, love and grace can bring people together and keep New Hope alive. Shows Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m. Tickets at soglogallery.com.
