CELEBRATE SEUSS WITH YPSW
The Young People’s Summer Workshop (YPSW) has been an Island Players tradition since 1975. The YPSW introduces 60-80 local children ages 8 and up to various aspects of theater and performance. Many children who started their stage experience with the YPSW have pursued their love of theater through high school and community drama clubs, gone on to college for theater/ drama degrees, and are now working at theaters nationwide. This year’s YPSW production is Seussical Jr. Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and other favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Two casts rotate duties for the performances with showtimes at 7:30 p.m. on July 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21 and 22, and 3:30 matinees on July 16 and 23.
