Growing with the Times

GROWING WITH THE TIMES When HunterMaclean, a leading business law firm based in Savannah, Georgia, expanded to Brunswick in 2002, the office included one attorney and one paralegal. That office has since grown to eight attorneys and four staff members and recently moved to St. Simons Island.

Longtime Glynn County resident Ben Hartman has been an attorney with HunterMaclean since 2011 and is heavily

involved with the community. Current vicechair of the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce, Ben says he is “excited to see the growth affiliated with our business community and delighted to be part of a firm committed to encouraging development for our region.”

On July 29th, HunterMaclean officially opened its office at 455 Sea Island Road. The firm is one of three businesses in the newly constructed, stand-alone building. The convenient location, Hartman says, provides more accessibility for clients. Attorney Chris Jordan agrees and believes the location will benefit clients in other ways. “Our new office is centrally located, easy to find, and in a great area,” Jordan says. “Additionally, law firm workspaces have evolved quite a bit over the years, and we have tried to maximize our efficiencies. For example, in designing our new space, we were able to increase our conference room capacity, upgrade our IT platform, and streamline our workspaces.” All of which, Jordan explains, are improvements that ultimately will benefit HunterMaclean’s clients.

While moving an entire office is unavoidably disruptive, everyone at HunterMaclean has been enthusiastic throughout the construction and relocation. “Our staff has been incredible, and the support from our Savannah office has been equally invaluable,” says Jordan. The team is excited to see it all come together and proud to welcome clients and the community to the new office. HunterMaclean’s presence has grown considerably in recent years, and Jordan notes that the new location is both a reflection of that fact and an important step forward within the Golden Isles community.

Hartman echoes that, adding, “HunterMaclean is able to offer families and businesses a deep bench of attorneys with decades of experience in estate planning, real estate, litigation, employment, environmental law, corporate law, logistics, intellectual property, taxation, cybersecurity, health care, and other practice areas. We are local and invested in our community.”

As Glynn County and coastal Georgia continue to grow, Jordan expects that many of HunterMaclean’s clients—from large companies to families and individuals—will be best served by a law firm with experience across a wide range of legal disciplines. Jordan explains, “we feel uniquely positioned to offer that kind of service, as our attorneys specialize in many different areas and routinely collaborate to help address multidisciplinary issues for our clients.”
