Adam and Carly met through mutual friends, who for a decade were trying to get them together. Still they had never met until one night at the bar, in the classic way of when you’re not looking for love, love will find you! They talked all night, Adam then took Carly to the zoo for a first date and ended up going up North to the Boots and Hearts concert. The rest was history. The wedding ceremony was a dream. As Carly’s dream was to always be married in Paris, they brought Paris to Toronto. Carly walked through a lavish gilded golden gate adorned with more florals cascading down the columns and pooling out the sides to match the arch at the ceremony site where the bride and groom said their vows. The ceremony was lighthearted just like them. There were laughs, tears and memorable moments. When they exited the ceremony, the guests showered them in rose petals. For the reception, the terrace was turned into a Parisian dream. From the music that played softly in the background while they sat and ate the exceptional multi-course meal, to the heartfelt

speeches from family and the bridal party to the actual party where they danced the night away. There was shimmering candlelight and a combination of tall and low florals. The head table highlighted flowers in whites, creams and a hint of blush in gold cases and compotes lining the tables edge with black candlesticks, tapers and die cut black lace votives. The décor was Parisian Romance, mostly white with a touch of blush with gold and black accents. The beautiful florals included peonies, ranunculus, dahlias, roses, anemones, garden roses and calla lilies with very little greens.

Anita and Eran had heard of one another in their graduate program, but never crossed paths. However, they met and got to know each other when they started together their first jobs out of graduate school. After they transferred to different jobs, they missed seeing each other every day and made an effort to meet up. They became best friends and got to know each other on a deeper level after bonding over Batman comics, travel, and cinema outings together. Their friendship blossomed into love and after a few years of dating, they knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. The wedding was originally booked for August 7, 2020. Due to the pandemic and gathering restrictions, they had a very small wedding ceremony that day with only their immediate families. So, this year, they wanted to celebrate and renew their vows with all of their family and friends. They had envisioned an outdoor garden ceremony because

they love the outdoors and enjoy going on walks together. They also wanted an intimate setting for close family and friends to witness their re-commitment to each other and to celebrate with them in person. Anita and Eran believed that Toronto Botanical Garden offered all of the above! Their vision for the reception was to host a grand and elegant affair in a venue with a lot of character. One King West left an impression on them with its distinguishing features, including its ornate grand staircase, high ceilings, and majestic chandeliers. The wedding specialists and catering staff were very attentive and provided excellent customer service. The food options and quality exceeded all their expectations as well. Lastly, One King West was very supportive of their cultural needs and requests, as they celebrated their Sri Lankan wedding rituals at the beginning of the reception.

Anita and Eran wanted to transport their guests to a romantic tropical setting. Cuba was their main inspiration because they bonded over its history and plan to make it their first trip as a married couple. When they combined the tropical flowers and décor with the high ceilings and gold accents of One King West, this achieved their vision of an elegant and glamorous affair on a tropical estate. They chose a vibrant colour palette of emerald green, pink and coral as this reflects their cheerful personalities, the tropical setting, and complements the gold accents in One King West.

Ariana and Jordan were fifteen when they first met at Mayfield Secondary School and became friends. Ariana was attending as a Regional Arts Dancer from grade 9, and Jordan transferred from Heartlake Secondary School a year later. In grade 10 science class, when they were both 16, Jordan confessed his love to Ariana and they’ve been inseparable ever since. They were really close friends, which is why they worked out as a couple through all these years. Initially, they were supposed to get married in their church in front of 250 family and friends. Covid had other plans, and they made the decision to pursue a civil ceremony in front of their nearest and dearest. Although things didn’t work out the way they were originally intended to, they worked out the way they needed to and they couldn’t have envisioned a more perfect way to represent them as a couple and officiate their love. It

doesn’t matter the location, as much as it matters who’s there alongside you. Everyone who witnessed their ceremony was with them from day one and they couldn’t have asked for anything better. Much like their ceremony, the reception was absolute perfection. They experienced a snowstorm the day before only to unveil the day of their wedding with perfect weather of clear skies, sun and warmth throughout the whole day. They had been told by planners and vendors throughout the day, that it’s very rare to have many moments throughout a wedding day where you can sit back and relax, especially with the original guest list and day they had originally planned. On that day, they did have many moments to soak in the day and felt truly blessed that to this day, they remember every moment together and those shared with loved ones.

Beverly and Prasana’s story has many chapters and has truly evolved over the eight years they have been together. It all began during their undergraduate studies. Beverly would tell you that they met in class, but Prasana would say that she was far too studious to pay attention to him. It wasn’t until one fateful night at the campus bar when one of Prasana’s groomsmen gave him a push in the right direction (literally) that sparks started to fly. Prasana proposed to Beverly while on vacation in the Datça Peninsula, where he set up a cliff-side dinner overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Prasana and Beverly were stunned when they saw the reception that Right Choice Linen had brought to life. Château Le Parc’s venue was perfect for a warm summer evening, as guests could easily flow between the indoor hall and the connecting outdoor courtyard. The evening kicked off with an antipasto station and a raw seafood bar including freshly shucked oysters, followed by a four-course dinner. Prasana and Beverly (and most of the guests) were brought to tears of joy and laughter while listening to the speeches given by their loved ones. As guests worked up an appetite dancing the night away, they were treated with the couple’s alltime favourites – tacos and churros.

Beverly and Prasana envisioned their wedding being a “Modern Classic”, which Right Choice Linen truly brought to life. Guests were invited to dine underneath towering cherry blossom trees, while the marbled dance floor created a beautiful setting for the couple’s first dance. The hall was framed by a trio of gold floral frames behind the head table, and a circular white and gold bar at the end of the dance floor. The bridal parties’ outfits, which were a stunning combination of burgundy and lavender, offered a unique accent to the couple’s theme of white and gold.

Shonnie and Zachary met while volunteering for Combined Jewish Appeal and really connected after they spent the weekend in the The Laurentians on a volunteer leadership retreat. They had an instant connection and Zachary asked Shonnie on a date as soon as they got back home. They had a traditional Jewish ceremony, but added really special elements to honour their loved ones that have passed. They got married in the same synagogue as Zac’s parents and grandparents and incorporated their grandparents’ wine glasses and Talits (Jewish prayer shawls) in

their ceremony and on their Chuppah. Shonnie also had her veil made out lace from her late mother’s wedding dress, which made it feel like she was hugging her as she walked down the aisle with her father. It was really emotional and difficult to get married without her but she really felt her mother’s presence. Their small army of a bridal party (27 people + flower girl & ring bearer!) walked down the aisle to instrumentals of songs that honoured their loved ones, their childhoods and were part of their love story.

The reception started off with a band that played until midnight, and then their DJ came on and continued until 3 AM when the venue literally had to shut it down. In the earlier parts of the reception, they had their first dance (sung by their best friend!), the father/daughter dance and a few speeches. By the end of the night, they were crowd surfing!

They chose a warm yet modern décor, as the couple really wanted their wedding to feel warm and intimate. With the help of their planner, that was achieved using a bright colour palette for the flowers, hundreds of candles for added romance, and long family style tables with banquette seating for intimacy. The choice of pinks, coral and orange wedding flowers was not traditional but really helped the venue (a nearly 200 year old synagogue) feel warm and alive. The added white, black and gold details brought in the modern touch they were looking for. The decor really set the tone for the night and felt like a true reflection of their relationship.

They met in Mykonos, Greece in the summer of 2016. Michael was in Greece for a wedding and Tania was vacationing with some friends. Through a friend of a friend, they found out that there was a group from Toronto in town for a wedding, so they found out what bar they were at and crashed their party. Michael introduced himself to Tania and they hit it off instantly. (They had both been living in Toronto but never crossed paths before.) They spent the rest of the night dancing, flirting, getting to know each other and sneaking a kiss or two. A few weeks later once they were both back in Toronto, they had their first date at a bar in the Annex and the rest is history.

Given that Michael is Jewish and Tania is Catholic, it was important for them to honour both their religions and traditions. They had a Catholic wedding ceremony at Blessed Sacrament Church at 12:30. A lot of family and friends who couldn’t join them in the evening (due to COVID capacity limits) joined them for the Church ceremony. They had a second, Jewish ceremony under a floral Chuppah at 5:30, leading into Cocktails and a Horah on the High Park Terrace. Their parents joined them under the Chuppah. Among other traditions like the signing of the Ketubah and the breaking of the glass by the groom, the ceremony was the most emotional part of the day for both of them!

Michael was born and raised in Montreal, and the couple always wanted to get married at a hotel so that they could throw a great party for all the out-of-towners over the course of the whole weekend. They kicked off the weekend with a Rehearsal Dinner on Friday night at the Epoch Bar at the Ritz, and the rest of the celebrations were held at the Hotel X. It was a smaller wedding (92 guests, down from the original 300 person wedding they had planned!) but it felt so intimate and special to be able to share it with their nearest and dearest. They shared their first dance to ‘You are the Best Thing’ by Ray Lamontagne and spent the rest of the night dancing with their guests to Saturday Night Jive. They had a brunch the next morning at Hotel X before everyone went their separate ways.

The Bride Says… Despite all the COVID curveballs – from having to postpone 3 times, change our original venue and shrink our guest list – we stayed focused on how lucky we were to have crossed paths and be finally tying the knot. The rest fell so easily into place.

When they made their way into the New Fort Hall after the Jewish ceremony, the rain was starting to come down and you could see it falling inside the glass room (it was magical!) Anna Lacivita Designs designed the most amazing atmosphere. Her choices for clear furniture, TONS of candles, and white flowers creeping up the candelabras, helped the room glitter when guests walked in. It was such an elegant, magical and surreal setting. Her vision

really came to life with the execution of Creations by Gitta. It was everything they could have dreamed of and more. They wanted the atmosphere to be romantic and dreamy. They also wanted to room to speak for itself because it is such a unique space with all the glass walls. When the sun went down, the twinkling candles everywhere lit up the room and it truly felt like a dream.

Their love story began with a common thirst for adventure. A week after they first met, they spontaneously decided to book a 10-day camping trip together in Iceland. One month later, the couple arrived in Iceland and found themselves hiking daily, getting lost for hours on unmarked trails, camping in the cold, and endless conversations as a means to stay awake on long drives. The experience allowed them to discover qualities in each other that they had both hoped to find in life long partners. Upon their return home they starting dating, and continued to grow closer together.

The couple decided to embark on their greatest adventure of all – becoming husband and wife. True to themselves, they planned a surprise fairy tale wedding two months after getting engaged and shortly after we moved across the world to a South Pacific island to pursue a new job opportunity. They enjoy each and every day together as they continue to build on and discover where their love will take them next.

The eternal romantic is drawn to the delicate details like pearls, iridescent crystals, and soft sequins. Big skirts with long trains offer hints of the classic fairy-tale and preserve the dreamy effect. Layers skirts and ruffles keep the movement and flow of happiness. Today’s dresses blend textures and fabrics to create appealing designs. Opulent heavy fabrics are paired with tulle, organza and lace. They are combined with floral embroidery and classic bead work. The Bride Says… The one piece of advice I’d give is: make sure you take a step back to observe and enjoy the day. The entire day is go, go, go, and hectic, you will be pulled in various directions, just ensure you take that moment. I grabbed my camera as I sat at the head table sipping champagne and snapped a picture. I still look at it to this day. The dance floor was filled with smiling faces.

Anna Maria and Tasso knew of each other, but had never officially met. He was suggested as a “person you know” via Instagram, so Anna Maria clicked “follow” and shortly after they started to chat. Their first date was at Bacaro in Westmount and he proposed a year later to the day, at the same spot outside the same restaurant! The church was filled with all their family and friends and the couple was so emotional when they saw the church so full. The church also had flowers and the aisle was set up with candles and flowers. For their reception, Anna Maria and Tasso had always said they wanted to be part of the cocktail hour, as it’s always such a fun start to any event. This is why they decided to set up a section upstairs for photos. The entire lobby was buzzing with laughter, cham-

pagne and oysters in abundance! Once everyone was seated inside, the dance floor was never empty, the vibe was fantastic, the food and service were superb. From the moment they entered the hall, the décor took their breath away. The lighting, the décor, the dance floor, everything was perfect. A few days before the wedding, their DJ called to tell them that a disco ball he had ordered had arrived earlier and asked if they wanted him to set it up. They said YES!
