“We discussed a number of things including the length I wanted, how thick I wanted my hair to be, and what colour I wanted. We talked about different options regarding colour to achieve a textured look and then Dee examined the shape and size of my head to determine how many bundles of hair to order. I wanted the colour to be a very dark brown, almost black, with some very subtle medium brown highlights, which Dee was able to incorporate with the extensions.”
Her bridal hairstyle was equally beautiful and romantic; long, flowing and curly with volume. She wore her hair half up, half down, with a lot of height in the front, and she couldn’t have been happier. “It is thanks to my Great Lengths extensions that my hair looked the best it has ever looked, on the most important day of my life. It was mainly because of my hair that I felt as beautiful and confident on my wedding day as I did.”
On the day of the application, Dee worked her magic with two bundles of 20” extensions in colour 1B. Before applying the extensions, Dee washed, cut, dried, and styled Chelsea’s hair. After the application, Dee again cut and styled Chelsea’s hair so the extensions and natural hair blended beautifully. Prior to her Great Lengths, Chelsea had never even worn clip-in extensions, so the process was completely new to her, and she was pleasantly surprised with the experience.

Allyssa and Padhraic met in April of 2012 at P.J. O’Brien’s pub in Toronto. Padhraic (also known as Paddy) was out celebrating with his Irish football team and Allyssa happened to be out with her mother and sister for a drink. When Allyssa went to the bar, she and Paddy starting chatting and really hit it off. They exchanged numbers but only connected a few months later in August. On their first date, when Paddy came to pick her up, they began talking and couldn’t stop. The connection was instantaneous.

THE CEREMONY | Allyssa and Paddy’s intimate celebration was made perfect with simple, yet chic decor. They said “I do” under a trendy triangle arch decorated with pampas grass; their officiant Jeff Maeck kept it light and heartfelt; and their 18-month-old niece couldn’t contain her excitement and laughter the entire time truly making their day. As the lead professional makeup artist behind Allyssa Helm Beauty & Co., Allyssa looked positively radiant. Her glam squad (Angela Xuereb Hair & Makeup Artistry, Shannon Petrolito, Presley Foskett, Jessica Wolfert and Alysse Morrison), also ensured the entire bridal party was stunning.
THE RECEPTION & DECOR | The goal of the reception was to keep everything laid-back and cocktail style. Tall bar tables and stools were dispersed throughout the venue so guests could easily maneuver their way around and mingle. To bring some Californian flair to the setting, a gorgeous pampas grass floral installation was hung from the ceiling alongside other small arrangements containing king protea with mixed metal decor. Everyone enjoyed the fun, party atmosphere where plenty of Irish dancing took place.

In the fall of 2014, one of Nicole’s friends told her there was a new quarterback on the team her husband played for. This new quarterback was Zach. All of her friend’s insisted she give him her number because they were sure she’d “fall in love with him.” Time and time again, she denied them, until finally one day she caved. A couple of days later, she received a text: “Hi Nicole, Zach Collaros here.” His message immediately made her laugh and the two began talking as if they had known each other forever. A couple of days later, on September 2, 2015, Zach and Nicole went on their first date at El Catrin in the Distillery District. Afternoon quickly turned into night, and Nicole found herself not wanting the day to end. When the time came for Nicole to drop Zach off at the subway, he asked when he could see her again. Playing it cool, Nicole replied with, “Sometime next week?” to which Zach replied, “How about this Friday?” Shocked at his persistence, Nicole answered “You want to see me again in two days?” He said “YES.” The rest is history.

THE CEREMONY | The ceremony was exactly what Jessica and Mario envisioned. They walked into a church filled with flowers. From the floral arch to the pews, each was decorated with roses and orchids from Gatto Flowers. Jessica recalls it being an absolute fairytale. A family friend sang, they had a live harpist play music and everything came together just as perfectly as they imagined.
THE RECEPTION | The goal of the reception was to showcase a floral garden. Flowers hung from the ceiling, five different types of centrepieces were created and a 22-foot-high backdrop loaded with candles and more flowers brought the grandeur to a whole new level. The contemporary yet romantic theme decorated by Gatto Flowers and R5 Event Design with all-white flowers, organic greenery and gold accents was the perfect touch to their night. With 700 guests dining and dancing, it truly was a night they will remember forever.

THE RECEPTION With a guest list of nearly 500, Zach and Nicole wanted their reception to be a real party. In other words, entertainment and food were important. The bride’s sister, Aleesia (a singer/songwriter), wrote and sang a first dance medley just for the occasion, which was a personal touch that meant the world to the newlyweds. Guests feasted on a delectable oyster bar alongside incredible food from the Hazelton Manor, before diving into some special late night stations that included pizza from Zach’s hometown. With flowers for days from Creations by Gitta and incredible planning from Anna Lacivita Designs, the reception turned into a magical garden. “Walking into the room was truly special,” recalls Nicole. “We knew what we thought it was going to look like, but didn’t know the magnitude of how wonderful it was going to be.”

THE CEREMONY Nadine and Gary wanted everything to be held in one location. They had their ceremony and reception at The Doctor’s House, which was the perfect venue. The chapel was decorated with greenery on the pews and beautiful floral arrangements at the front of the chapel. Guests blew bubbles as they exited. It was a very special moment for both of them. THE RECEPTION AND DECOR When it came to the planning and decor of the wedding Nadine relied on the guidance of Lisa K Events to help plan the perfect wedding. Their dream was to have a wedding full
of fall colours. As an added touch each guest was given a package that Nadine had put together. Jars of homemade jam and chocolates added that extra sweet touch. Rustic elements like a custom charcuterie board added to the rustic fall feel of the wedding. Gary brought an element of fun by having Led ice cubes that lite up on each table-being a techy guy he felt this was a little representation of him. Everyone enjoyed the evening as it was filled with amazing food, laughter and most importantly celebrating the love of this beautiful couple.

HOW THEY MET Andrew and Kayleigh met nine years ago at the end of high school. They saw each other regularly with mutual friends in the small town of Georgetown, Ontario, and started dating soon after. Two years of dating later, Andrew got a promotion at work and moved to Alberta for 11 months while Kayleigh was in her final year of college. Throughout that time, they dated long distance until Kayleigh join him once she completed school. After six years of being together, they got engaged.

THE CEREMONY A small wedding at the family cottage is exactly what Andrew and Kayleigh wanted. When Andrew’s grandparents agreed to host the ceremony right on their dock in Port Carling, they were overjoyed. To complement the rustic theme of the setting, a branch arch lined with draping and flowers was used to decorate the altar alongside burlap bows on every chair. The ceremony was held at 3 p.m. with the warm sun shining down on everyone, while neighbours in boats gathered in the water to watch the ceremony, wave and congratulate the newlyweds. It was everything they had ever dreamt of.

THE RECEPTION While the bridal party took beautiful pictures with Jessica Douglas Photography after the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy cocktail hour and snacks at the reception. Dinner consisted of a cranberry, spinach and sunflower seed salad; herb roasted breast of chicken merlot jus; and medley of fresh vegetables with rosemary potatoes. The couple shared their first dance to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran featuring Beyoncé.
THE DECOR To continue the rustic atmosphere of the day, twinkling lights, draping and gold chiavari chairs decorated the hall. Vintage cutlery was set at each table alongside wooden centrepieces accented by flowers and candles, while at the sweet table, a love-shaped balloon hung above a naked cake and cupcake tower for guests to feast on.

On August 21, 2009, the stars aligned. Alexandra attended Michael’s 20th birthday party with her friend who was invited by one of Michael’s friends. As soon as they were introduced, they spent the entire night together. Throughout the rest of their relationship, the number 21 carried a special significance. The bride says…
“After so many months of planning, your day will be over in the blink of an eye, so make sure to take a moment and really take everything in!” THE CEREMONY| Alexandra and Michael had a traditional and symbolic Greek ceremony inside a beautiful Greek church to honour the groom’s heritage. The aisles were draped with gorgeous greenery from Gatto Flowers, which tied nicely with the breathtaking art and architecture of the building. Plenty of family and friends watched in attendance, while 20 bridesmaids and groomsmen helped make it so special. Purple Tree Photography was there to capture every beautiful moment of the day.
THE RECEPTION |Hundreds of guests (350 to be exact) joined the newlyweds for their gorgeous garden reception. The couple shared their first dance to the symphony version of “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran featuring Andrea Bocelli, while later in the evening everyone took part in traditional Greek and Italian dancing. To ensure exquisite food was served throughout, Alexandra and Michael kicked off the celebration with hors d’oeuvres, lamb chops, and prosciutto and Saganaki stations. At midnight, the late night snack bar included Greek desserts and a veal and rapini sandwich station.

THE DECOR | Gatto Flowers and Weddings by Design worked closely together using a palette of gold and greenery to bring Alexandra’s dream of a romantic garden theme to life. Thanks to a massive gold bar filled with dozens of candles, the couple’s head table at the centre of the room glowed. There to provide a pop of colour with hints of mauve was a gorgeous floral runner centrepiece spilling over both ends of the table. For more visual interest alongside the stellar serpentine tablescape with candelabra, a variety of high and low centrepieces were placed at the guest tables.

One night, Ashley went to see a Toronto Maple Leafs game at the Scotiabank Arena in downtown Toronto with some friends. Her cousin joined the group with some of his friends and Danny happened to be one of them. The two hit it off instantly and spent the entire evening getting to know one another. They’ve been inseparable ever since.

THE CEREMONY & RECEPTION
As soon as Ashley and Danny saw the Hotel X Toronto, they knew it was where they wanted both their ceremony and reception to take place. Along with spectacular rooftop views of Lake Ontario at the ceremony, some of the couple’s favourite moments of the day included seeing Ashley’s five-month-old nephew ride into the hall on a miniature Lamborghini; having Ashley’s father sing an Italian song before the father/daughter dance; and listening to friend Laura Cavacece sing the first dance song. Last but not least, the newlyweds were utterly surprised by the presence of the groom’s family all the way from Italy.

THE DECOR
A seemingly endless sea of fresh florals from Gatto Flowers and decor from R5 Event Design turned Ashley and Danny’s reception into an incredible fairytale. The magical theme was made perfect with 12-foot-tall wisteria trees at almost every table alongside the couple’s epic head table created with greenery, cherry blossoms and more wisteria. The true focal point of the room. “It completely exceeded all of our expectations, and more so, our dreams,” recalls Ashley. “It was truly a magical set up and nothing short of perfection.”

HOW THEY MET
Daniel and Alexandra crossed paths multiple times at CrossFit gyms and competitions. In 2013, both finally mustered up the courage to introduce themselves at a CrossFit Christmas party during one of Toronto’s biggest ice storms. Alexandra was persistent in impressing Daniel on the squat rack and made a point of never missing a class with the hopes of seeing him. One day, Daniel finally asked Alexandra out. After being together for three years, Daniel took Alexandra to Portugal and completely caught her off guard by proposing in Praia de Benagil.

Daniel and Alexandra wanted to keep their ceremony traditional. It was very important to do the first reveal when walking down the aisle and write their own vows. Although they didn’t get married in a church, it was also crucial that they honour their Christian faith as much as possible. In doing so, they selected their favourite scriptural pieces and Alexandra walked down the aisle to a violin cover of “What a Beautiful Name.”

THE RECEPTION & THE DECOR After looking for the ideal venue for over a year (they wanted to stray from a traditional banquet hall), Daniel and Alexandra selected Spencer’s At The Waterfront. They instantly fell in love with the tall glass windows encasing the space, the breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Ontario and succulent menu. The small and intimate gathering included 88 guests with photography services from Brandon Taylor. Mexico, the couple’s favourite vacation destination,
is what inspired every aspect of the decor. With a modern, tropical theme in mind, the colour palette featured green, white and black with gold detailing. Tropical florals and foliage decorated the tables and bouquets, while acrylic pieces were used for the chairs and signs. Instead of circular tables, long rectangular communal tables filled with candles were used to further the modern theme. Brandon Taylor captured every detail and moment with style and grace.

HOW THEY MET Brad’s brother, Ryan, set up Sam and Brad on a blind date. Although they already knew each other from high school, Sam played hard to get. A few years later, Ryan ran into Sam and convinced her to go on a double date with his brother once more, only this time accompanied by he and his then-girlfriend (now wife). It didn’t take Sam long to realize that they were indeed a great match.

THE CEREMONY St. Andrew Church, where Sam grew up attending, was where the ceremony took place in Oakville. The bride arrived in style in her grandfather’s 1961 Thunderbird with her mother, sister and Nonno. As an ode to the song that her parent’s got married to years before, Sam selected Pachelbel’s Canon to walk down the aisle. Brad and Sam filled the church with their family and friends who had witnessed their relationship grow over the last eight years. After sealing it with a kiss, the newlyweds walked out to one of their favourite songs, “My Girl” by The Temptations.

THE RECEPTION With the couple now living in Toronto, they wanted to have their reception in a boutique-style hotel downtown. After seeing the art deco design and vintage ambiance of the Grand Banking Hall at One King West, they chose it for their wedding. The overall atmosphere was warm and inviting, and Brad’s speech brought down the house with plenty of laughter and happy tears.
THE DECOR
The palette chosen for the overall decor scheme was periwinkle and gold, complemented by bursts of colour from the wildflower-inspired bouquets. Pillar candles of varying heights were placed on each table alongside gold table numbers to set the mood. For a sentimental touch, photos of the couple and their parent’s weddings were on display on the vintage banking counters. One of the couple’s favourite pieces was the custom photo booth backdrop created to make guests look like they were sitting on the moon.

Josh and Y.J.’s relationship dates back to when they were neighbours and friends in elementary school. After years of growing up alongside one another, he finally mustered up the courage to ask her out in high school in the 10th grade. When time came for Josh to propose, he decided to take Y.J. to Niagara for her birthday, drag her out in the cold in front of the falls and get down on one knee to ask her the big question. At the time, Y.J. was tired, starving and didn’t understand why they had to B-line for the falls as soon as they got there. Once he asked, she was delighted and spent the rest of the day celebrating. They topped the night off by seeing one of her favourite musicals.

THE CEREMONY| As non-traditional people, Josh and Y.J. wanted a non-traditional ceremony. The role of the officiant was taken by the groom’s cousin who did an amazing job making the service personal, memorable and humorous with heart-warming anecdotes from their past. Another touching addition to the ceremony was the mother of the groom’s friend who sang the seven blessings. Nonetheless for Josh, the most memorable moment was hearing Y.J.’s vows. Although he barely remembers what she said, he couldn’t help but smile the entire time, thinking about how assuring the future felt. THE RECEPTION| Delicious food, beautiful decorations and a constant flow of drinks ensured all had a wonderful time at the reception. Of course, since the wedding was half Jewish, the groom took part in the necessary Horah where he was hoisted in the air on a chair. Everyone hit the dance floor at that point and enjoyed the party. The Eastcore did a fantastic job capturing the day with photography and videography services

HOW THEY MET Daniel worked with Alexandria’s brother and they became good friends. Through their friendship, Daniel and Alexandria met and became friends. However, early on, they learned that they had actually met numerous times as children. Daniel had grown up next door to her cousin’s house, so they unknowingly were tied. The two bonded over similar interests: their love of Italy, traveling and cooking.

THE CEREMONY Daniel and Alexandria were married in the church that her family has attended her whole life. The couple loved the idea of having a band at the reception but didn’t want to run the risk of not having a lively party, so they decided to have the band play at the ceremony instead. THE RECEPTION It was important to the newlyweds that both their big Italian families (totaling 335 guests) attend the reception. Delicious food was served and a great party was had by all. With a beautiful, illuminated eight-foot bar on the dance floor and elevated DJ booth just above it, guests danced until the very end of the night. THE DECOR All of the flowers provided by Imperial Flower Shop were show stoppers at Alexandria and Daniel’s reception. White peonies, blush garden roses and greenery were used to decorate every corner, from the tall crystal centrepieces on the guest tables to the head table framed by gorgeous blooms. White draping created an elegant backdrop behind the couple, alongside acrylic decor and a gold bar back filled with candles and flowers. Alexandria was thrilled that her vision of romance and enchantment came to life. To honour the bride’s five-year remission anniversary battling cancer just two days before the wedding, donations were made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in lieu of party favours.
